Hope

Remember when

I cut that ribbon?

The red one,

Tied to our hearts

The one that held us

Together

Remember how I bled,

And how scared

You were?

It's been a long time

Since then

The dead ribbon

It's starting to heal

The red silk is

Fluttering out

Forming two new connections

They're weak,

But hold promise

The ribbons attached

To my heart,

And two other hearts

It reminds me of you

It makes me feel

Warm and fluttery

Again

I know what this is

I'd like to call it

Hope

The blood stains from

Our cut

Are still there

I can still

See them

Your ribbon is fine

You didn't bleed out

Like me

You had many other ribbons

They kept you from

Damage

I wonder,

Will these new ribbons

Keep me from

Damage?

I call this wondering

Hope

My ribbons are so

Weak

I can't see them

But yet I know

They are there

This knowledge,

I call it

Hope
