The destructive thunderstorm crashing down on her rooftop startles Aurora awake. A loud crack in the sky bursts, almost mocking Aurora for her fear of storms. Its very odd indeed that a young girl such as Aurora is afraid of her own abilities... but that story is for another time. Hush, now she is fully awake.
Aurora wanders her eyes, finally coming to the conclusion that she is in her bedroom. A small yawn stipples from the back of her throat, as she finally regains consciousness. Slowly getting out of bed, Aurora walks over to her window, where she is greeted with the morning sunrise breaking free of the dark storm clouds. Hues of all the pinks and oranges Aurora can think of spill over the blank canvas that is the sky, creating a masterpiece that not even the most talented artist can paint. Aurora relishes in the warmth for as long as she can, before...
"AURORA GET OUT OF BED, YOURE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL" her mother shouted from the downstairs portion of their house. Aurora groans, knowing that reality has unwillingly come to take her away.
"AURORA GET DOWN HERE,IM NOT GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN" her mother once again yells. Aurora silently creeps downstairs, after getting ready for school. She crosses to the kitchen, where her mother seems to be 'cooking'. Aurora's face instantly lights up when she sees her youngest sister, Pandora sitting at the kitchen table.
"good morning," Aurora whispers to Pandora, whilst kissing her on top of her head. Aurora and Pandora were very close siblings, even though they are 10 years apart, you probably couldn't find closer knit sisters in all of Virginia. Unlike Aurora who had silvery blond hair, Pandora had rich chocolaty hair that flowed down her back in curls. However, both sister shared the same ocean blue eyes in which they inherited from their father... wherever he is nowadays. Not wanting to even look at her mothers horrible cooking, Aurora rushes out of the house, barely even saying good bye . Aurora begins on her short walk to school. The Taylor family, like so many others live in this small town called Thompsonville. Since Aurora lives relatively close to her high school, it doesn't take long for her to get there.
As she walks on campus, people stare at her and whisper. Murmurs of horrible words such as freak, mutant and wierdo surround Aurora as she walks to her locker. Aurora has been known to make unexplainable things happen at school. Like the time in 9th grade biology when she made a faucet explode when she got a bad grade on a test. Or at lunch period in 10th grade, when she made a fire hydrant shoot out water at all of her classmates because they were making fun of her. Her classmates were afraid of her abilities, hell, even Aurora was afraid of her own abilities because she couldn't control them. Fortunately, her best friend Mary stuck with her. Unlike anyone else, Mary thought that Auroras powers were awesome, but that didn't stop Aurora from hating them. Hating them for making her different. Even Auroras appearance was different. With Auroras pale skin, silvery white hair, and ocean blue eyes, she stands out very clearly in the sea of brown hair and brown eyes. Aurora continues on with her day, ignoring all of the staring.
Finally making it to her first hour, Auroras face instantly light up like Christmas lights when she spots her best Mary. She quietly makes her way over to her with her head down, careful not to attract any attention. Mary was very different from Aurora. Mary resembled a black cat, with jet black hair and vibrant green eyes. Mary was also very energetic, like a little ball of sunshine that somehow made its was onto earth.
" good morning Aurora, ready for yet another week of school" Mary jokes, knowing how much Aurora dreads school. Aurora just groans, whilst taking out her homework from the week before.

After the first part of school is over, Aurora and Mary make their way to the library for lunch period. Something about the solitude and peacefulness of being surrounded by books calms Aurora as she makes her way to her favorite seat. Before she can even sit down, she hears a faint whispering coming from one of the bookshelfs. Aurora, confused, looks around wondering where the whispering is coming from. The whispering is incoherent, but Aurora can somehow sense that its speaking to her. As if she is being pulled by a rope, Aurora walks toward the abandoned section of the library. There lies a sing book with golden writing on the side. Aurora can barely just read it, but it seems so say NECROMANCERS. Aurora, intrigued, picks up the book and as a reflex, opens it.
" Aurora! where are you we have to get to class!" Mary shouts scarily close. Panicked, Aurora stuffs the book into her bag and retreats, the abandoned part of the library just creeps her out.
" oh there you are, come on we're going to be late" Mary takes her hand and drags her to class. All that's going through Auroras mind right now is what in hell is a necromancer and why was a book whispering to me?, also, holy hell I just stole a book from the library!!
