Liam's POV

I could could tell something was wrong with Noah when he left so quickly, but I just accounted it to the hormones. My mother came out of the kitchen, holding her phone and scowling. "What's up?"

She turned to me, giving me a sour face. "Honestly, sometimes I question whether or not to disown you."

I put my hands up in defeat. "What did I do?!"

"Well for one thing you called Noah a hassle. Why would you say that to him?! He's pregnant, for God's sake!!"

"It had nothing to do with Noah! I'm just saying that I don't want to have to come here every night. I have to work, you know!! Besides, if you're here I shouldn't have to be, right?"

My mother shook her head, not saying anything more. I sat there for another ten minutes, waiting for Noah. When he didn't come, I called to my mother. "Do you know when Noah will be back?"

"He went home." She called back. I froze. "I thought he was staying here until the labor starts, so you can monitor him." She raised an eyebrow. "If I recall, you only told him to stay a few days. You never said 'until the labor.' Besides, he's due in the next month or two, right? He should be taking a maternity leave, so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about."

I sighed. "Well, can you tell me where he lives? I want to go and see him before the birth, at least."

She pursed her lips and shrugged. "Don't know."

"Shouldn't it be on his resume?"

"He didn't need one. I knew him as a child, and I'm close with his mother. I employed him on her behalf."

I groaned. "So, he's not coming to work and you don't know where he lives? How am I supposed to contact him?!"

"Don't you know his phone number?"

I shook my head and she smirked. "Hmm. A shame."

She turned, heading back into the kitchen. I raised an eyebrow. She knows something. She's hiding something. Does it have to do with why he left so abruptly earlier? Whatever the reason, I have to find him. I want to see him. He's carrying my child. I can't just leave him alone. It's my son or daughter, and I'm not going to just sit back.

---

My mother was right; Noah wasn't coming to work anytime soon.

I had come into work the day after Noah left, and I found a maternity slip on my desk. Noah had filled it out thoroughly, all the information except the house address and phone number. What annoyed me most, though, was the fact that everyone in the building had seen him. Everyone but me.

Why is he avoiding me? Does he want to have the child to himself? What's going on?! This is my child, too. I have as much of a right to have them as Noah does. In fact, I could probably file for full custody if I wanted to. People will be more supportive of a big name than a pregnant man that nobody knows of.

I bit my lip. I could do that, but... I want to have Noah, too. I want them both. I won't settle for anything less. I pulled up the phone, dialing the one person I didn't want to have help from. At this point, it's my only option. "Hello? Daniel? I need your help."
