night // 9:23 pm

The feast has ended and Caven decided to walk with me on the way home. He hasn't mouthed a single word since we left and I'm growing very anxious every minute. Have I done anything wrong?

Noticing the awkward and silent atmosphere, I decided to speak first.

"Caven, is there anything wrong?" He looks calm and collected as always but there's this something in his dandelion colored eyes that made it all go wrong.

     "Caven? I—"

"There isn't anything wrong." He flatly replied. By the tone of his voice, I know that something happened. Maybe at work? Or probably he's just sleepy? The feast did end so late. Maybe he's just tired and wants a good night's rest.

As we arrive in my house, I look at him and see him looking away. I couldn't deny the anxiety growing just by drowning myself in my thoughts. I'm extremely worried by his sudden change of behavior.

"Honestly, Caven. Let's talk about it. I know something's troubling you." I finally said it!

He stares back and sighs. "You are the prettiest woman I have ever laid my eyes on." He started off. "And I am really happy that out of all the Gods, it is I that has your heart captivated."

"It is the same for me, my love. You have stolen my heart in many ways I can describe."

He sighed again. "And I can't possibly hide you from everyone. You attract even the tiniest bit of thing in this universe. I can't help it but be worried by the fact that you might leave me for another man."

I'm surprised to hear him say that and I'm at a loss for words. Did he actually think that I was even capable of leaving him when I love beyond I can even describe?

He was about to leave expecting that I couldn't answer him when I pull him in for a kiss.

"No matter how perfect they maybe or how caring, I'd choose you in a heart beat, darling. I want you to trust me on this one." It came out as a whisper but he heard clearly enough for him to smile reassuringly.

Finally, the smile I have been waiting for is painted all over his face. He hugs me tightly and all I can feel is his warmth and the smell I've always longed for. How can he possibly smell so nice everyday?

"Can I stay for the night?" He mumbled.

"You can stay as long as you wish. You just promise that it's with me that you're staying with."

     11:11 pm

I wake up, still half asleep and I felt no warmth beside me. I open my eyes to see that Caven has left my side while I was asleep. Panic and worried, I stood up and look for him all over my house and still can't find him. Where could he have possibly gone to?

I open the front door and see him sitting, gazing at the night sky.

"Tamara?" He stands up, surprised to see me. "You go get a coat or something. The night breeze is cold."

As always, he's caring for me even at this hour. I return back home to get a small blanket and quickly went outside to sit beside Caven. I can feel that he's feeling a little cold too so I placed the blanket over us while I join him for some star gazing.

"You have trouble sleeping?" I ask. He then looks at me as the moon illuminated his eyes. It was more mesmerizing than any star in the sky and I enjoyed looking at them.

"I don't. I just woke up suddenly and decided to star gaze. The night breeze is cool too so I figured it might be the perfect time."

He pulls me close and there, we spot a shooting star.

"Go ahead and wish," he says like a little kid.

"Wouldn't it be ironic? We fulfill the wishes of humans and yet we do the same?" We laugh together and he seems to be happy so I'm glad.

He stops to look at the shooting star first before returning his gaze back at me. "Come on, just this once. It won't be so bad to wish upon a star, right?"

"Well, okay. You win." I close my eyes and clasp my hands together for a wish.

"And? What did you wish for?" He asks like a little kid again. I wonder why he's this happy over a shooting star. It's not like we don't see stars at all here in the heavens.

"Eternity," I mumble. He looks very curious too with his eyes asking me.

"What kind of wish might that be, honey?"

"To have eternity with you." He looks like he's still not satisfied with my answer and so I chuckle. "To spend the rest of forever with you. To be able to look at the stars with you and to be greeted by sun with you."

He sits in awe, very stunned and speechless to hear my answer. I guess he was expecting a simple answer from me such as cakes or probably flowers. If I think too deeply about it, he was the only wish I ever wished for.

"Well, I wished for you. Just you." He whispers. "And guess what?"

     "What?"

"Wishes do come true." I immediately blush and hit his chest softly.

"You and your lines! You never really fail in making me blush!" We laugh together as we watch the stars twinkle and shine.

I guess my wish is still in the making.

I thought of that as we bathe ourselves under the pale moonlight and all the shimmering stars.
