Evelyn Higgins' pov.
I woke up to a pounding headache. And throbbing throughout my whole body, but mostly my head. I lifted my hand to my forehead and pulled it back. There was dried blood smeared onto it, some of it still drying.
"Oh good," a voice spoke. "You're awake princess." my birth mother smirked at me from the same chair she sat in earlier. At least I was put onto the bed and not left bleeding on the floor. "You feeling alright?" she joked. "My baby isn't looking so good."
"Maybe because she was just nearly killed by one of your stupid workers. He beat me like it was nothing. You're sick, you know that?" I scoffed and winced as I sat up.
"Stop whining," she rolled her eyes.
"How long was I asleep, mum?" I emphasized.
"Three days." she grinned, proud of the suffering she put me through.
"They will find me!" I screamed at her.
"What did I say about screaming at me, young lady?" she got up and shouted in my face. I took a slap to my right cheek. I was grateful it wasn't my left one because I've been slapped there two times and punched there twice as well.
"I'm sorry," I cried. "Please, please just let me go and we can forget about this! We can be the family we never got to be mum! Me you and dad." I lied, trying to persuade her.
Her eyes softened for a minute before they turn ice cold and she slapped me again. "Stop lying to me or you'll go through round two! Do you want that, darling?" she smiled sickly at me. I shook my head. "No? That's what I thought."
She left me, to the bathroom, washing her hands and getting ready of the blood from where she touched my face. "Disgusting." she muttered.
"You caused it." I retorted with anger and she laughed at me.
"Proud of it!" she smiled and I cried harder. "Shut up. Shut up! People will hear you!"
"Rot in hell!" I screeched at her. "You can die for all I care! I don't give two shits if people hear me!"
"Be quiet!" she scolded me.
"Help! Help!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
"Enough!" her fist flew to my jaw and I fell to the ground, landing on my face. I sobbed in agony. "Nobody can hear you anyways. This whole hall is rented out, you ugly brat."
I wanted to insult her back but I was having a hard time even thinking with the pain shooting through my head right now. I groaned and laid on the floor, practically wishing death on myself at this point. Why wasn't Louis looking for me? Where was my father? And all the other boys? Don't they think I could use some help?
"John get in here!" she demanded and the same man stepped through the door who beat me to a pulp earlier. "It's time." she smirked.
"Are-are you sure?" he asked wearily. I looked up at him in fright.
"Yes! Now do it before I kill you with her!" John said nothing. "Oh come on you can't be feeling sorry for this thing." she pointed her bony finger at me. "Do it!" she screamed. "I'm going on some errands."
"Come here sweetheart." he grinned at me when she stormed out of the room.
"Don't touch me!" I spat at him and he pushed me onto the bed. He grabbed my left breast and I immediately knew what was going on. "Stop! Please!"
John continued to kiss my neck and lay on top of me; not even caring about how heavy he was. I was nearly suffocating under his weight. I squirmed uncontrollably, trying to get his disgusting body off me.
There was the click of a gun and John froze.
"She said don't touch her."
Louis.
