When Mr Asshole finished looking around with his usual irritating smirk he finally started the meeting.
"Good morning guys so the purpose for having this meeting today is to announce to you all that Mrs Jackson is retiring and she sold this coffee shop to me.Well as the owner I would like to make some changes.So be prepare for your task to change."The guts of this man...Arggggg.
I mean we are all happy with our shift and task and now all that are about to change."so as I was saying your shift and task are about to change.Ready?"He asked.Everyone nod except me. "so let's start with shayla Jamison from now on you're going to be the waitress." ohhh my task is given to shayla.He kept on with the names while I zoned out
"I will also hire some new workers because I am renovating this café and as for a manager the task is given to..."His eyes scan each and everyone until it falls on me and he smirk his annoying smirk and announce"Adelissa Reid" my eyes almost bulged out of it's socket when he said that.why on earth he put me as the manager?
"what me the manager?"I ask hoping it's not me. "yes,only if there is another Adelissa Reid in here then it's not you"he says sarcastically making me roll my eyes. "But Mr mannerless how can I be the manager I don't even have the experience which a manager requires."I say,second after realising what I just called 8him making my eyes widen in realisation.
"Miss Reid,I suggest you watch your language if you are in need of this Job."He says with a hint of anger in his tone. "Sorry sir,what's your name? I don't recall you saying your name"I ask making everyone turn to look at me like I've gone crazy "What?" I ask confuse.
"The name is Alfonso Valeriano.And yeah they are looking at you because you don't know who I am."He says with that annoying smirk again.
"Am I suppose to know who you are?"I ask with a raise eyebrow. "Yes you are suppose to know afterall I'm the first billionaire bachelor."This man and his fat ass ego I tell you. "Well knowing you are a billionaire won't bring me any good anyways so doesn't matter."He looks at me with pure shock second after concealing it realising he just gave out his facial expression.He clears his throat and speak again"ok Miss Reid as you already know you are the manager now your task for today is you are going to place vacancies online for an interview tomorrow and you are the one who is going to interview them since I'll be at the company and yes before the coffee shop close everyday I'll come to get an update from you."An update from me can't he do that on the phone itself.
"Now Miss Reid stop thinking about if I can't do it on the phone it's my café I can come by whenever I want." "Did I say that out loud?" "Yes you did."he gives me a serious look. "And yes all of your uniform will change.And for you Miss Reid you are not going to wear a uniform but you'll dress a lil bit classy as from tomorrow." "Another thing Mrs Jackson office is now yours."WOW "Also during the day your not only gonna sit in the office you are going to go out and check on the workers.Am I clear?"What does he thinks that I'm a lazy person that I'll sit in the office only.
"Miss Reid back to earth,zoning out will not be tolerated here you might be the manager but I'm the boss.Back to the question you didn't answer me." "What question?"I ask confuse "ofcourse you wouldn't know you zoned out right!" "I asked if I'm clear?"He repeat with irritation clear in his voice "yes Mr valeriano.you can count on me." "Hope so."He says seriously as he checks his phone. "Miss Reid I have to get going now see you tomorrow." "Alright Mr Valeriano."He nods and make his way out of the café.
"ok guys back to work now" "Shayla pull the sign from close to open."As the sign was pulled people started filling in and I know that today will be a busy day. I put my apron on and help Rosie who was having difficulties with all the orders. "Adelissa you are the manager now it won't look good for you to help and also it's my job" "Doesn't matter whose job it is if you are having difficulties I'm going to help end of discussion" "ok,thank you Adelissa" "it's ok."So after that we got back to work.By one in the afternoon the café was no more that crowded like it was earlier so I left Rosie to it as she can handle it now,and went to check my new office.I sit on the new chair in front of me and set the job vacancies online.

After 10 minutes I am already getting notifications about people applying.While checking the number of people who applied my computer make a 'ting' sound which means I have a new mail.woooaaah a new mail from Mr Asshole I won't call him that when he is here though"how is it going?"
"It's going great,it was very crowded in the morning but now there is not that much people as lunch just got over."I press the send button.Minute later he reply "ok,when I come tomorrow we will check the file." "sure thing Mr Valeriano."After pressing the send button I shut my macbook and went back out to check on them.
At six o'clock I lock my office to go home."shayla tell one of the guy to close the café it's already the closing time." After hearing a faint ok from her one of the guy came out to close it I think his name is kyle.
Soon after I was walking down the pavement to my apartment.Once I get there I change into my pjs and lay in bed and what do you think even though I'm exhausted sleep came right after?no sleep did not come my thought,my past did they never leave me that's when I know I'm completely alone the moment when my tear will fall uncontrollably.
You know when I was young due to the cruel world I was taught how to be stone cold,self reliant,to hold myself high and poised,with a ready smile and a subtle charm ready to conquer the world.So I learned from early on to only cry behind close doors,on dim lights,without sound,to howl in pain silently,to break down without anyone knowing,and to never ask for help.Because when no one sees you suffering,do you really suffer?I can always just pretend that whatever pains me never happened,and I can always go back and face the world pretending I'm okay that's how it is most of the nights despite me wanting to bury the past and not to think about it or to cry over it I always end up a crying mess,laying on the pillow soaked with tears until I fall into a slumber.
