Trapped
I jumped at him, leaping off the ground like a wild animal. I was inches from hitting his face when a sharp pain shot up from my ankle. I flew back on the cold floor, more pain sprouting in my elbows and knees. He chuckled and looked down on my crumbled figure. I looked up, my lips curled in a sneer. His face was dark skinned and scarred, sunglasses covered his eyes. He stood much taller than I, almost touching the ceiling of the small metal room. His lips dancing with amusement, as if my pain was funny.
"You are foolish." he laughed, "And you will pay the price for it."
I glared up at him through my black matted hair, that hung over my face. I hoped my storm grey eyes would convey my complete utter hatred toward him.
"You monster!" I cried, "where is my family?!"
He laughed again. "They are safe. At least, while you corporate."
I stiffened. "I'm not doing anything for you!"
"Then your family isn't safe."
I gritted my teeth, and spat on his shinning leather shoe.
He shook his head, glancing down at his shoe. "Oh Ella, you didn't want to do that."
I glowered at him, anger making my blood boil painfully. His foot suddenly flew up at my face, and before I could even register what was happening, his leather shoe clouded with my chin. I flew back, pain in my chin overpowering. I rolled on the ground, a sudden buzzing beginning in my ears and I felt warm tears roll down my cheeks. I tried my best to wipe them away, I couldn't let him see he had hurt me.
"See? Have you learned your lesson yet?" His gravelly voice echoed through the room.
I pulled myself up, ignoring the shooting pain though my head. Though my slit watery eyes I could make out his dark expression once again.
"Where is my family?" I demanded once more, struggling to keep my voice firm.
He shook his head again. "You just are not getting this are you?"
He crouched down to my level, still a good foot above me. "If you ever," He grabbed my chin with his thick hand pulling my face just inches from his steely glare. "Ever. Want to see your family again,"
I shivered, and tried to fight my reflexes, his hands felt like fire on my skin and I could feel his breath against my face with every poisonous word.
"You are going to have to do what we ask of you. No fighting back, no tricks. Or your family and friends WILL die."
His potent breath and words made my face scrunch up and I timidly tried to breath free of his grasp. He squeezed my chin and face hard, not letting me move away.
"Do you understand?" he growled.
I bit my cheek to keep from a string of my own vile words to spit, instead quickly nodding my head as much as I could. He let go of my face, pushing my head back a little and straightening. "Very good. Do you see how easy that was?"
I rubbed my chin with my hand, screaming at him with my thoughts flashing the darkest glare I could conjure. He didn't seem to be affected by my look of hatred, and instead kept his calm and collected figure, Turing around to the door. "Your first assignment will present itself shortly. Just remember what I said. One slip and they die."
He stepped though the now open door into the almost blinding white hallway and turned back to me. "Pleasure doing business with you, Ella." The door slammed closed leaving me with his wicked smile still relaying in my brain.
I shuddered and hugged my knees, shuffling back and leaning on the cold wall. What was I going to do now?
