Chpt 1 Bittersweet Beginnings

"Lord Danzo... who am I?" I sit on the floor in front of Danzo.

He chuckles softly. "Sweet Natsumi. I guess you're at that age, it's finally time to tell you of your beginnings. the family you forgot about."

My eyes light up with eagerness. I finally get to learn of my past!

"Well it started with the 4th Hokage. Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, they were your parents."

I nod slightly. Yea yea Danzo. I know that part already! It's always the same with you!

"They left you with me, they sacrificed their lives to protect Konoha. As well as to protect you and your brother."

My eyes grow larger and light up even brighter. Finally Danzo! Now you're talking!

"B-Brother?!?" He nods.

"But one thing Natsumi, he is the jinchuriki for the 9 tails. And because of that, you may not reunite with him until the time is right."

I nod with tears in my eyes. "Anyways Natsumi." He quickly changes the subject.

"As of today you are now a member of the ANBU Black Ops. Congratulations." Danzo gives me his shady smile.

"Oh well... ok!" I give him a fake smile in return.

"You will be serving under Itachi Uchiha, who will be your squad captain."

I-Itachi U-Uchiha?!?! The prodigy of the Uchiha clan? Me?! I can't believe this! I'm not THAT strong... Am I?

"Really? Itachi?" I stutter.

"Yes, now please get ready. I'm going to take you over there to him." I nod as he turns to leave my room.

I quickly dress in my ANBU uniforms and put my hair in a neat bun. "Danzo! I'm ready!"

I walk out into our living room. Where the hell is Danzo?! He should be out here...

"Natsumi?" I hear a familiar voice behind me.

"Yes?" I turn around to face Itachi.

"Uh?!? Oh Itachi?!? I thought I was to go report to you?" I seem to stammer as I spit out my words.

"I thought I'd come to see my right side man!" He smiles sweetly.

"Uh- Uh... Right side man?" He nods slightly.

"Well I would suppose you'd rather be called right side woman!" He chuckles slightly. "But yes. You will be my co-captain, my assistant in a sense."

I feel my checks heat up slightly. So first I'm placed in his high ranks? Then I'm placed just seat behind him? That can't be!

"Oh ok! Thank you Captain Itachi!" I bow to show my respect.

"Hey! No need for bowing! I consider us as equals. You do know I have seen you in battle. Your skills are ravishing! Anyways, the titles 'captain' and 'co-captain' are just used to maintain order. Out side the ANBU ranks we are of equal power." He smiles that bright smile again.

Equal? To a legendary Uchiha? That's impossible! He has the Sharingan, I'm only the daughter of the Hokage! That doesn't give me any special power though.

"Now shall we get going?" I nod.

"Bye Danzo! I'm off for the day!" He waves me a goodbye. Me and Itachi walk off towards the ANBU center.

"So do you have any family? Well I suppose other than Danzo." He looks at me with such a sincere gaze.

"Uh I just learned today I have a younger brother. His name is Naruto Uzumaki." He looks at me with shock.
