"Is it true you slept with the principal after graduation?"

"What? I'm seriously appalled Ashlyn. Who told you that? It was BEFORE graduation."

Oh my god. I had to make a joke out of it. Because if it didn't try to make light of the situation then she'd see me sweat. I refuse to let a girl see me sweat. Trey Barnes doesn't sweat, well, in front of girls anyways. The fact that she knew this little tid-bit really sucked and I probably looked like a tool to her. I can only imagine the little snitch who told her. Bad form Doug. Really bad form.

Luckily she laughed and didn't get a disgusted look on her face.

"Well then Mr. Barnes I must give you props. She was decent for an older woman." she said smiling.

"Come on, admit it. She was hot."

She shook her head at me still smiling and sipped her drink. We had only been here about twenty minutes, and I was really surprised how easy this was. Joking and teasing back and forth. Nothing was awkward, and the conversation flowed smoothly between us.

"So how long are y'all going for this time then?"

"About thirteen months. It's not as bad as you think. We are always on missions and when we aren't doing that we train for missions or work out, read, and watch movies."

"Damn."

I nod my head.

"So about that game last night.." I tease watching her blush, probably from the memory of everything we had gotten out of her.

"You're a bad girl Ashlyn."

"Oh this coming from the guy who probably fathered twenty babies in Korea?" she smirked.

My jaw hit the floor. They told her about Korea too? Assholes. I had to admit the way she said it just now though was pretty funny. If I didn't like her I would of laughed.

"I'm my defense I was young, and I didn't know the buy one get one free rule."

This cracks her up, and hopefully she knew I was joking.

"Slut" she teases. "Melisa asked about you this morning."

I could care less.

"Oh yeah? What about?"

Like I didn't know already.

She smirks a little and looks down at her drink, stirring it needlessly with the straw.

"Just wondering if you were going to come hang out again. They are going back to Louisiana tomorrow."

"I don't know maybe. I've got family stuff today and most of the evening. My mom is throwing a going away dinner for me."

"Awe. That's so sad Trey." she sticks her bottom lip out in a pouting way, having no idea how badly I want to pull it into my own mouth. That thought turns into us going at it on the table, and I have to look away.

I'm a sorry excuse for a man. I'm actually sitting here with my friends girl, having dirty thoughts, while she's feeling sorry for my parents.

"Yeah, maybe you can go?" I don't know why the invite turned into a question. I guess because I said you and not y'all. Doug wasn't part of that invite. I kicked myself.

"I would but it's my moms birthday so dad's throwing a surprise party. Then after that Doug wanted to have more people over since his ex has Jackson this weekend."

"Sweet. Happy birthday to your mom." I say.

"Thanks."

I couldn't get over how laid back and normal she was. She really did act like I imagined she would. As nice and funny as she was, and the fact that she looked good, was a perfect package. The military is my life, but right now I'm cursing it since its my deployments fault we had to miss that dinner months ago. What would of happened if I didn't have to stay and train the new recruits? Would we be sitting in this diner as a couple?

As girly as that sounds, it didn't seem like that bad of an idea. Now I get to watch a good girl, wasted on Doug, who is my friend and all, but let's face it, he is just going to f*ck her over judging from what I've seen already.

"I've got to ask you something but I don't want you to get offended."

She looks back at me with wide eyes, like I'm going to start trash talking her or something. It's so cute how nervous she looked I laughed just a little and shook my head before continuing.

"Are you serious about Doug?"

She looks relieved and thinks about it for a second.

"Yes, I mean yeah I guess. We've been together a few months now."

"Ok, good I dont want to have to hunt you down for hurting my best friend." I say, using the joke as cover up. I had to ask, the clarification helped me push aside what I might allow myself to start feeling for her if she had doubts about their relationship.

I wasn't about to tell her what I saw in the garage. If he's a d*ck like he used to be, then eventually he will get caught. Not that I want her to be hurt like that, but if he doesn't deserve her then she needs to be with someone who does. I'm not in love with the girl or anything, but I can definitely picture myself being with her when I get back if he's not around.

"I promise you won't have too." she says smiling sweetly at me. "Well, anyways, thanks for the drink Trey. I only get an hour break when I'm the only one at the shop. It gets so boring sometimes."

She stretches her arms above her head and her shirt goes up a little revealing the flawless skin underneath.

'Stop stop stop' I think to myself. Trying to will her with my mind to put her arms down. If she stayed I wasn't going to be able to stand up for a while.

"Alright, fine I guess I have to go hang out with my mother now since your ditching me." I say with fake disapproval.

"Awe is wittle Trey a momma's boy?"

"Yes, but if you tell anyone I'll deny it and ruin your credibility." I say with a wink.

She blushes, which was such a turn on that I almost didn't realize what that meant. I made the girl blush. Yes!

She grabs her purse, then gives me a small wave and turns around. Naturally I watch her ass as she walks away.

Without looking back or stopping she says, "Stop looking at my ass Trey." and then she's out the door. I could tell she was smiling.

I can't help but fist pump the air. I knew she liked it.
