"I began to see my life as a Ferris wheel, with so many endless ups and downs. I only hope that our relationship has more highs than lows."

Jack woke up to the sunlight entering the room through his window. He sat up, gently so he didn't wake Mark up.

"He's very cute like this," Jack smiled as his oceanic eyes stared down at the redhead.

As Jack stared at Mark's serene body, he noticed something that made his heart drop. He finally noticed Mark's scars on his wrist and one lone cut that couldn't be more than a week old.

"Good Lord, why would he ever?" But, then Jack thought about it more, realizing why, "He's been through so much heartache that he resorted to this... He's really no different than me, is he?" Jack couldnt help but think back to all the people he slept with in hopes to forget his past.

"I won't ever make Mark feel this way again. He deserves to be happy." Jack leans down and kisses Mark on the cheek, gaining a small smile from the redhead's sleeping self.

"I love him too much to let him get hurt ever again."

Jack then got up and closed his curtains, then laying back in bed to contiue cuddling with Mark's warm body.

"Hey, Jack?" Mark says, sipping the hot coffee Jack just finished making.

     "Hm?"

"Let's go out to the fair, today is the last day to go until it comes back next year," Mark says, hoping to have fun with Jack today.

"Hmmm..." Jack thought about it for a bit before responding, "Yeah, that sounds like fun!"

Mark simply smiled in response, but in his head, he was cheering loudly.

As they arrived, they had no idea where to begin.

"Oh! Mark, let's play the games!" Jack says excitedly at the sight of all the various carnival games. Mark simply giggles in response along with a quiet okay.

Jack grabbed Mark by the hand and dragged him game to game. Though neither of them were good at the first few they did, causing them to lose, they arrived at one Mark knew he could do: throwing rings on to bottles.

As the redhead paid the host and got the rings, Jack questioned Mark silently. "I wonder if Mark is good at this? I've always been bad at all the carnival games, so I know I wouldn't win this. He seems awfully excited about this one, so maybe he's good at it."

Mark took a moment before throwing the rings, trying to figure out which bottle would be the easiest. Once he had found one, he began throwing the rings.

The first one missed, causing Mark to curse softly under his breath and Jack to giggle.

"If I just adjust the amount of force I'm using..." The redhead thought to himself.

He threw again, actually getting the ring on the bottle.

Jack was surprised by this, "But can he do it with his last three rings?"
