Chapter 6: Maybe

What the actual duck. I say to myself as I sit down at the my lunch table. I can't stop thinking about this morning and how Cole slammed Mile to the wall.

As I was in my own mind set I didn't realize Mike sat next to me.

"Are you going crazy or something?" he says while starring at me.

"Oh Mike I thought you would never talk to me again," I say looking at the table.

"How can I stop talking to this beautiful short girl," he says as a smirk appeared on his face.

"Oh shut up," I say smiling and looking up.

"Anyway why does it look like you are in a deep ass thought right now?"

I don't know if I should tell Mike. But he is my best friend and I tell him everything. "Well something happened this morning..," I say as my voice trail off.

"What happened," he asked taking a bite of his apple.

"Mile was picking on me and Cole smashed him in the lockers." I said without mentioning the part where Mile smacked my ass.

The piece of apple flew out his mouth and hit my face. "What the heck Mike!"

"You mean to tell me he was bullying you and, Cole the person who hates you, stood up for you?" he said while his face was starting to turn angry.

"Well at least now Mile won't pick on me again."

"That's not the point!" Michael yelled.

"Then what is?"

"He was bullying you!"

"Stop yelling Mike your making a scene."

"Naw fuck that, I don't care if people watch," he said getting up and walking out the cafeteria.

Oh no. I got up and followed quickly. Man I really need to hit the gym. U finally end up walking beside and try to get in front of Mike, but he kept pushing me out the way.

I stood in front of him. "Mike please stop-" Mike grabbed me by the shoulder and pushed me against the locker looking me dead in my eyes.

"I'm not gonna have my best friend getting bullied and not doing shit about it," he sounded so angry but I didn't really hear what he really said because I was freaking out over the position we were in. What if his girl friend came walking down the hall. That would be a nightmare neither me or Mike would forget.

Mike finally moves and breaths out. "I wish I was a better friend."

I slowly look at him "Mike you're my best friend and nothing will change that, okay?"

Mike looks at me "alright," he says and pulls me in for hug. "Also I'm sorry for not talking to you."

"It's fine you're just mad."

"I guess," he pulled away.

"Soooooo wanna go get tacos best friend!" I shouted while smiling.

"Duh race you to the car!" he said running out the building.

I laugh and run after him. As I start to catch up I almost run into Cole.

"Oh, hi Cole.."

"Hey," he said and started to walk away.

"Wait Cole!" I shouted to him. He turned around looking confused.

"Um thanks for this morning, that was really nice of you."

"No problem."

"Maybe I can make it up to you with dinner?"

Cole looked at me. "Just because I saved your ass doesn't mean where friends. Take a damn hint." he said and walked away.

Wow. I was kinda mad but I didn't want Mike to find out so I just walked to his car and got in.

Me and Mike ate taco bell at his house and with junk food and watched Disney movies.

"Mike I'm out of soda," I whispered looking at him.

We were sitting on his bed with the covers on us and food surrounding us. While we are watching the movie. I got to admit we were pretty close to each other. But I really don't think it bothered Mike.

"Here you can have the rest of mine," he says as he hands me his bottle of soda.

I drink some and continue to watch the movie. I lay my head on Mike shoulder and start to drift asleep.

I wake up to Mike saying my name in annoying voices. I open my eyes and and mumble.

"I don't know what you said but your mom is here to get you boo," Mike said then started laughing.

I just realized how annoying he is so I sat up. "You ruined my sleep!" I complain.

"Sorry your mom is here tho," he said getting up and cleaning up all our trash.

I got up and rubbed my head and helped him clean. I gather my stuff and hugged him goodbye. I ran to my step moms car while it was pouring rain outside.

When I get home I took a shower and put on some shorts and large t-shirt and grabbed my phone and checked my messages.

Mikey~ u left your nachos but don't worry their in a safe place.

Me~ and that safer place would be?

Mikey~ my belly.

Me~😵 how could you.

Mikey~ love u night xD.

Me~ hate you and when I see you tomorrow you're dead.

Mikey~ lol okay

I was about to put my phone down but it buzzed, so I checked it again to see a message from a unknown number.

Unknown number~ hey.

Me~ who is this.

Unknown number~ it's Cole.

Me~ how did you get my number?

Cole~ one of your friends.

Me~ oh.

Cole~ instead of you taking me out ill take you out.

Me~ wait really? Why.

Cole~ ill tell you when I see you.

Me~ when is it what place and time?

Cole~ Friday be ready at 7:30. I also need your address.

Me~ *gives cole address* okay thanks. Your nice now all of a sudden.

Cole~ i just don't wanna seem like a bully.

Me~ lol okay well gn.

Cole~ have a nice night.

I shut off my phone and put it on my night stand and breathed out. Wow Cole actually is being nice.
Maybe we can become friends. Maybe. I say smiling to myself and drift to sleep.
