Chapter 3: The Fight That Started It All

Skylar holds me against the lockers forcefully and I try to break free from his hold.

"Skylar get off of me!" I yell.

"You gave me the wrong fucking answers to the test and now I'm probably going to fail the class because of that!" He exclaims.

I don't even listen to him, I just try to break free the whole time. Suddenly I hear a woman's voice yell.

"Skylar!" I hear her yell. I see Kayla running over to us and she hits Skylar's shoulder.

"What the fuck are you doing Skylar?!let him go!" She says looking at him angrily. Skylar looks at her, then at me, then back at her. He then lets me go and brushes himself off.

"You got off lucky this time man..." Skylar says looking at me and shaking his head. He puts his arm around Kayla but she pushes him off.

"No, go away Skylar!" She says, pointing to the hallway. Skylar looks at her, then chuckles.

"Whatever..." He walks away and I begin rearranging my shirt back to normal. Kayla looks at me with sad eyes and her hand on her forehead. I look down, then back up to look at her and she bites her lip, confused on what to do.

"Are you okay?" She says quietly.

I nod my head. "Yes, thank you.."

My skin begins to feel hot and My hands begin to sweat. I'm so nervous I don't know what to do... I can't look her in the eyes really so I just clear my throat and turn away to walk to my next class-leaving quickly before Kayla could say another word.

"Hey, wait!" She yells. I'm so embarrassed, I can't even look back. I can't believe I had to let a girl help me in the first place.

After 4th period ends, lunch begins and I go to the cafeteria. I purchase my food and a water and walk over to the entrance door. Suddenly, I see Skylar and he purposely runs into me, causing my food to spill all over my clothes. The whole cafeteria turns around and starts laughing at me.

"Damn, my bad Mike... I'm a little clumsy sometimes." Skylar says sarcastically whole chuckling lightly with his friends. My eyes begin to well up.

"Don't do it... Don't cry." I think to myself. Before I could let one tear drop, I look beyond Skylar and see Kayla again. She just looks at me with sad eyes and mouths "I'm sorry..." I shake my head slowly then run out of the cafeteria. Can my life get any worse?

(Last Class Of The Day)

Luckily I was able to get my food off of my clothes. Even though that was still a shitty thing to do. Skylar is such a cold hearted person that it makes me sick to my stomach. Like who could be that evil? Apparently he can. I just don't understand how he got Kayla. She's so sweet and beautiful. She deserves way better. The school deserves better. He's a horrible person and one day karma will bite him in the ass. It is now the last class of the day and I can't even pay attention. My mind is all over the place. Usually I'm the brightest student in my classes but today is a horrible day. I can't even sit in this class anymore and see all the people whispering about me and giggling at me. I raise my hand and the teacher calls me out.

"Yes Michael?" She says.

"May I go to the restroom?" I say softly.

"Of course. Just take the pass."

"Okay..." I take the pass and begin walking down the hallway to the restroom. Before I could turn the corner, I see a girl sitting down on the ground with her back on the lockers. Her head is in her hands and she is weeping softly. That looks like Kayla! I would just keep going but I can't just leave a crying girl here. Especially if ya Kayla. I walk up to the girl and stand in front of her.

"Kayla?" I ask shyly. The girl raises up her head and it is Kayla. She looks like she's been crying heavily. Her makeup is a little ruined and she can't stop tearing up. Oh damn...
