Chapter 3: He's Back
"W-What? Really?" I asked. Hindi ako makapaniwala na nakabalik na siya. I mean, we haven't communicated for years.
Tumawa ulit siya. "Yes, my lady."
This is a big news to me. Hindi 'man lang siya nagsabi na dadating siya!
"Why didn't you tell me?" gulat kong tanong.
"To surprise you. And I guess, you're surprised." maligaya niyang sambit.
"Yes. I'm very surprised. So, kailan ka pa nakabalik?"
Jaz and Lou, looked at me with a questioning look.
"Yesterday," I heard some muffled noises. "by the way, why don't we continue our little chitchat later? I'll pick you up. Free ka ba?"
May group research pa akong kailangan daluhan. But, I want to catch up with him.
I sighed. "Okay. I'll text you the time."
Narinig ko ang pag-sambit niya ng "yes". "Thank you, Blair. I really missed you."
I chuckled. "I missed you too. By the way, ibababa ko na ang tawag, okay?"
"Sure. Bye." And then, the call ended.
Huminga ako ng malalim bago itinago ang phone. That was unexpected.
"So, who called?" tanong ni Jaz. Of course, the queen of gossip.
"Miller." I said and then I heard them gasped. Well, nakakagulat 'rin naman kasi.
Jaz's eyes were formed into a big circle. "Oh my gosh... Really?!"
Pareho kami ni Lou na nagulat sa reaksyon niya. The students near us were looking at her.
"It's nothing." malamig kong saad sa kanila. They immediately looked away. Mga tsismosa.
Tumawa si Lou. "Ang OA mo Jaz," and then, bumaling siya sa akin. "pero totoo nga? Si Miller? As in, Jacob Miller Estrellado?"
I nodded. "He's back." tinusok ko ang pagkain ko bago ito kinain.
"Grabe! Akala ko hindi na babalik 'yun. Magaling na siguro ang Papa niya, no?" ani Jaz.
Tumango ako. Maybe. Kaya kasi siya nag-ibang bansa ay dahil sa ama niya. His father got sick. Kaya 'ayon sumunod siya.
"Blair, humanda ka nanamang mapuno ng bulaklak ang bahay natin," natatawang saad ni Lou. "ilang years na nga siya nang-liligaw?"
I shrugged. "Two years?" Hindi ko pa nga alam kung nanliligaw pa 'rin siya. Ang tagal naming hindi nag-usap. But before he left, he told me to wait for him because he'll continue to pursue me. Hindi naman ako umaasa na ipagpapatuloy niya ang panliligaw niya sa akin.
"Haba ng hair!" humagikhik si Jaz. I just rolled my eyes at her. She's so annoying. But I love her.
After eating our food, we decided to stroll.
Medyo matagal pa kasi ang next class namin.
While strolling, hindi mapigilang maglakbay ng aking isipan. Thoughts about, why Miller came back.
Alam na kaya nina Chris at Drac? By the way, Chris and Drac are Miller's friends. Medyo close ko 'rin sila dahil kay Miller. I have so many questions but none of them seems to pop in my mind.
I'll just ask him later, I guess.
