Running is all they could remember at the moment. Their dry throats scratching against itself uncomfortably. They thought this was going to be their last time to breath. Their last step.

But even through these thoughts they ran. They ran with 3 vehicles behind them, the sound of the wheels thrumming kept them on their feet. Their weapons thudding on their backs.

"Keep running! Stay on your feet!" A voice was heard on their radio.

"Yes sir!" The rest responded.

They started to pull out their weapons and shooting behind themselves. Many missing due to long range, some reach the vehicle. The obnoxious sound of bullet against metal was heard. This was soon heard by the sound of popping, they had popped the wheels of one out of the 3 vehicles. This soon lead to the robotic figures that was in the military truck to dash out of the vehicles and shoot at them. The runners dodged and shot back at them, somehow hitting a couple of them.

"Shit!" A scream was heard from one of the fellow men. Blood drenched his sleeve until it was a dark red. Groaning, he pulled out a pack of bandages from his pocket and wrapped his arm tightly. It hurt like hell, but he wasn't giving in now.

"Keep running, you can do it!" He told himself. He grabbed a knife and threw it towards one of the mechanical soldiers. Hitting it in the head, sparks fly. It makes a sound of distress but tries to keep running only to fall.

The others keep running whatsoever. The other 2 vehicles precede them.

They talk to each other in a language no one understands. But it is soon to figure out what they are saying.

One gets on the roof of the vehicle and jumps using the force of the kick off the hurl their burly figure at one of the runners.

"Keep running don't worry about me!" They say as he tries to escape his grasp. He was able to pull out his arm and shoots the robot in the head, making it kick back from the pressure. This all happened so fast, and in a slit second he found himself on the ground. Sparks fly and and the brute like thing  fell atop him. Due to this he thrusts his way out of the dead thing's arms. But only to be held back from two others. Almost like instinct, he shoots one, hitting it dead in the stomach. This leads him to soon getting clawed in the chest by a panther like creature. It was almost all mechanical. Although he had never encountered this creature before, he reacted quickly, by pulling out the spine out of the almost all abiotic creature. It claws the ground screeching as the oil spills everywhere.

But time seems to stop. He looks around and soon shock hits the man, he looks at his chest. Blood drenched his clothing. He had been shot. He didn't feel the pain right away, but it soon hit him. He falls forward, hitting the ground. Screaming in pain, he tries to pull out a knife, cutting his hand in the process. As he fumbles, one of the few robotic figures that surrounded him, stomped on his chest. This resulted in an even louder scream. All of his ribs were broken, and had stabbed into his heart.

"I.." He breathed, "Will fight... Even in hell." He paused, coughing blood. "Because... Real soldiers never die, they just continue in hell."

His body gave in. With a last breath, his eyes rolled to the back of his head. He was dead. Officially dead. They picked him up and took his helmet off. Longish greasy hair, and a scar over his right eye that continued to his lip. The thing nodded, and his ally pulled up a hologram. It had many different pictures of men and teen boys. It kept scrolling. It looked through the list and found a picture that looked like their recent kill.

It pressed on the pic and pushed an "x" button. And soon in the sky the picture appeared and across the face it read "DEAD."

Meanwhile, the others had made it on top of a building.

"We have only a few minutes up here before the helicopters come, so take a break." The man in charge said.

They all listened grateful for even 2 minutes of a so called "break."

"Hey Captain?" A teen, maybe 17, said.

"What do you want Rat?" The captain said to his soldier, clearly annoyed that he only got 10 seconds of silence.

"Do you think Silver is alive?" Rat mentioned timidly to him.

He was the one who had stayed behind. He was the best melee fighter on the team. Captain, also known as Comet, was going to speak, but was interrupted by a holograph in the sky. A wave of sadness came over them as a picture of their fellow soldier appeared with the word "DEAD" across his face.

Despair came over the group of men. Silver was the one everyone was grateful for. He was the humor and the hope in the group. Not to mention, now they were down one unit.

He was always good with newbies and somehow managed to even make the Captain laugh. Which, if you haven't caught on, was very serious. And somewhat monotonous, too.

"Does that answer your question?" Comet asked Rat harshly. Rat flinched slightly, wanting to recoil from the Comet. He knew that this was going to be hard on the whole group, but Silver and Comet were buddies. So this pulled on Captain's emotions.

Rat took a deep breath and responded to the Comet.

"Yes sir." He said quietly, only to soon back away and give him space.

The sound of helicopters filled the air. And search lights scanned the area.

"Lets get a move on men..."
