EUCLIFFE ESTATE
The brothers were in the living room.
Rogue was sitting on one of the chairs, still on his robe and reading the newspaper while Sting was pacing back and forth near the veranda. The white curtains flowed lightly with the morning breeze.
The blond stopped and turned to his brother.
“Hey, remember the celebration at Natsu’s a few days ago?”
“Yeah. What about it?” Rogue answered, still looking at the paper.
“I was told he got married. That true?”
“Well, yes. Didn’t you know?” His older brother answered, still not looking at him.
Sting gave him a look.
“Of course I don’t. I wasn’t around when that happened remember?” he mocked.
“It was in the papers. Didn’t you read?” Rogue chuckled.
“You must have forgotten that I don’t like reading,” Sting mumbled.
“No wonder Rakheid is always in first place and you in third place when we’re talking about academics.”
“Don’t remind me,” he mumbled again.
“Well now you know. What’s the big deal?” Rogue said, still facing the paper.
The blond rubbed his face like he was bothered by something.
“Everything’s a big deal! I met this blond chick and I don’t know. I can’t stop thinking about her. Just when I thought I’ve found the one, it turned out she was already married!” Sting said not looking at Rogue.
“What blond chick?” Rogue asked with an amused smile, still not looking at him.
“First I thought she was Rakheid’s girl then I found out she wasn’t. But then Lucy suddenly went to Natsu who kissed her…”
“Lucy?” Rogue’s eyes widened, his attention now shifted to Sting who was still blabbering.
“And just like that I found out she was his wife! Why him of all people? If it was someone else, I could easily snatch her away, BUT NO! It had to be Natsu. What am I supposed to-“
“Sting!” Rogue called out, getting the other’s attention.
“You’re not…falling for her, are you?” he asked, worry was written on his face.
Sting saw this. He knew his brother had always tolerated his informal behavior without complaining. He didn’t want his brother to be worried about him. Rogue’s already got a lot of problems in his hands. He wasn’t planning to add up to them.
“No, of course not,” the blond let out a forced laugh, “what I’m trying to say is, could I go out and bring Rufus with me? I’d like to check out the new clubs. You know what I’m saying?” he smirked mischievously.
Rogue sighed.
“Yes, yes. You should have told me right away that all you wanted was to hook up with some girl,” Rogue returned to reading his newspaper with a relieved smile, “Well get going then.”
Sting grabbed his jacket and went out of the room.
That’s right. Maybe all he needed was to have fun and he’ll forget about her.
