Dear Maria and Mark,
I miss you both so much but I want you to know that I have met a lot of wonderful people here and have even befriended some of my teachers. I have become particularly close to five people here; Sara, Robert, Lloyd and Lana who are my closest friends and Matthew Loraine who is my mathematics, and science teacher. Lana and Sara are in my dormitory and both them as well as Robert and Lloyd are in my form. They are my best friends and even though I have only known them for a short time I feel like they are my family.
When I first arrived here I was placed in one of the school houses. The house I am in is Silber, I cannot remember how to spell the other houses but there are three others.
There are some things that happened that no one here can know about like my family being taken away from me and the other tragic things because some things are better left unsaid I guess. This next part of the letter no one else can know besides you two because at the moment you two are the only ones on the outside that I can contact that I trust. I have found this boy and he seems to like me but I do not know if I like him as he does me. I have tried talking to my friends and asking them how to know if you like someone and it hasn't helped all that much and I am running out of time. The boy is starting to put together the puzzle pieces if you like and if he thinks I like him and I do not I do not want to hurt him. Time should sort it out, right now I think I know the answer...
Sincerely
Hope
