A Month Before Her Murder

"Albri!"

At the sound of my name, I closed my eyes shut.

I hated it.

I hated how she screams my name making an annoying  echo throughout the house, it gave me chills.

"Yes mother?" I yelled making my way down the stairs.

There my mother stood at five foot five, green hazel eyes, blonde hair, and the highest cheekbones in the family. She wore faded dark blue jeans and an orange and white flannel shirt. With a white beeter underneath, she looked nice today. I wondered where she was going? It wasn't like her to get dressed in the crack of dawn.

"I need you to watch your little brother while I make a store run." she said and looked at me sternly.

I nod annoyed that she really thought I was gonna believe that plus, that I had to watch the devil I had as a brother Tyson.

He probably was back there in his room playing video games and munching on food, typical Tyson. Soon he'll be out terrorizing me.

"Okay. But can I invite a friend over?" I asked flipping my long blonde hair from my shoulder. I really needed a haircut soon.

My mother nods her head slightly, looking for her keys on the messy table.
She narrows her eyes at me when she finally finds them. "No. Boys."

I roll my eyes as she turned away from me out the door. I went over to the family couch deciding to watch some television.

Once she left I couldn't help but feel lonely, making up my mind I called Carter to see if she wanted to hang for a little bit. Multitasking, I flicked through channels as I held the phone up to my ear with my shoulder.

"Hello?" Carter said on the other end.

"You feel like coming over?" I asked

She giggles. "Sure. I'll be over in a minute."

Scrunching up my face I rolled my eyes. "Is Gage there?"

"Yeah. He's about to leave."

I shook my head disgusted, I was happy for her that she found someone to go through hell with. He was just an asshole.

"Alright. See you when you get here..." I said before I hung up.

I put the phone and remote on the side of me and decided to make something to eat. I was indeed starving.

Before I could even open the refrigerator, someone was at the door. I sighed and went over looking into the peep hole.

A cool aid smile covered my face as I snatched the door open.

He was here.

I missed him.

He looked so handsome in his white shirt and tan khakis.

I embraced him into a meaningful hug, which only lasted a few minutes before we pulled back for a kiss.

"How have you been?" he chuckles.

"Getting by..." I smirked as I pulled him in the house by the hem of his pants.

If mom was gonna have secrets, so was I.

"Woah. Take it easy there girl. Isn't your brother here?"

I nod. "My room."

He smirks as I lead him upstairs and into my room.
