Louis ~Heart baby

You were laying in a hospital bed with Louis sitting in a chair next to you holding your hand as you listened to the heart rate monitor beeping. You have been in the hospital for the past week because at your last ultra sound your doctor found something wrong with your baby and needed to have you stay in the hospital so that they could keep a close eye on you and your baby.

You knew that after the baby was born there was an 85% chance that the baby wouldn't make it because of a possible heart concussion. 

The boys had been stopping in every so often to see how you were doing and if they could bring you and Louis anything. Your mom was sitting in a chair next to the hospital bed. She was holding your hand softly rubbing her thumb over the top of  your hand as you lay there with your eyes closed trying to rest as best you could even though you were more uncomfortable than ever right then.

"Louis?" You asked.

"Yes sweetie?" Louis answered.

"Could you please go get me some water please?" You asked as you looked into his beautiful eyes.

"Well since you said please twice, I suppose I could go get you some water." Louis said letting out a little snicker as he got up and made his way down the hall to get you your water.

You closed your eyes and soon fell asleep.

You woke up half an hour later to find Louis sitting on the side of the hospital bed. You looked around and saw that your mom was no longer in the room.

"Where did my mom go?" You asked Louis quietly.

"She had to go home for a little while and take care of some things around the house." Louis said as he leaned forward and kissed your temple.

"I got you your water, but you were sleeping when I got back. So, I just put it in the Minnie fridge. Do you want it?" Louis asked.

"Yes please." You smiled.

Louis got up and grabbed your water.

"Thanks." You said as you took a sip.

You leaned back against the pillows and closed your eyes once again. But you soon shot forward grabbing your stomach and gowning in pain. Louis was quick to react as he keeled next to the bed and held onto your hand.

"Louis. I think it's time." You said looking at Louis and watching his eyes widen.

"I'll buzz a nurse." Louis said as he reached over and clicked a button on your bed.

within minutes a nurse came walking into the room.

"Alright Mrs. Tomlinson, what seems to be the problem?" The nurse asked.

"I think i'm in labor!" You said.

"Alright just let me check your dilation and see if you have progressed at all since your last appointment." The nurse said with a smile on her face.

The nurse checked your dilation. You were dilated 2 centimeters further than you were at your last appointment which meant that you were now at 4 centimeters. 

"Do you want to get into the pool love?" Louis asked.

"Yes please." You said.

Louis helped you to stand up and you slowly made your way to the pool. You stepped into the pool and sat down sliding your back down the wall of the pool and sighing as the warm water soothed your acing back. Louis sat next to you dripping water onto your belly that was pocking out of the water. Louis grabbed you a pillow to rest your head on as you closed your eyes and tried to relax.

After your second contraction you requested for en epidural because you just couldn't stand the pain anymore. You know that you said that you were going to have a natural labor with no pain medication but at this point you were just thinking 'fuck it I need that epidural if Louis is ever going to make it out of this hospital alive'.

A nurse got you your epidural and soon you couldn't feel a thing, you felt like you were floating and you could see that, that made Louis happy to not see you in pain anymore.

You fell asleep for an hour and woke up to a contraction that was more painful than any of the ones that you had before. When you opened your eyes you saw that a nurse was already in the room along with Harry.

Louis was right by your side holding your hand. The nurse walked over to the end of your bed while Harry stayed in the corner sitting in a chair.

"Shall we check your dilation?" The nurse asked but she didn't give you a chance to respond before she was lifting up the end of your hospital robe and getting ready to check your dilation.

"Well, ready to have a baby?" The nurse asked.

You nodded. Two other nurses walked in and started preparing the room for the birth. They escorted Harry out of the room and into the waiting room and closed the door. They put your legs up and open wide which made you feel a little uneasy but you forgot all about that when a contraction hit making you scream out in pain.

"Alright, lets have a baby." The nurse said as she took a seat at the end of the bed.

Louis stood up at the top of your bed holding your hand and whispering encouraging words into your ear as you started to push.

"Great job! I can see the head. A few more pushes like that and the head should be out." The nurse said.

"I can't do this Louis, It hurts so much!" You said as you took deep breaths.

"Yes you can! I know that you can do this. Just think in a few minutes we will have our baby!"Louis said.

"PUSH!" The nurse said.

You took a deep breath and pushed down with all your might. You could hear everyone in the room counting up to ten. Once you reached ten you stopped and took a breath before pushing again.

"Good, good, good. Almost there just keep pushing!" The nurse said.

You continued to push until you heard ten, then you stopped pushing and fell back against the bed breathing heavily.

"It's a boy!" The nurse exclaimed.

"I-is he okay?" You asked.

"Just give us a second." The nurse said.

A minute later the nurse walked back and placed your baby on your chest as he was screaming.

"He is perfectly healthy." The nurse said.

"Nothing wrong with his heart?" Louis asked.

"Everything looks perfectly fine with him." The nurse said.

"Well then, welcome to the world Cooper James." You said smiling down at your beautiful baby boy.
