It was a quiet day at work. I had been here for an hour already and nobody had came into the coffee shop. It was just me working there today. Everybody else had the day off because it was Easter, I had to work though because I didn't celebrate Easter. I decided to check my phone to see what my friends were up to considering I only had 2 hours left to work. I was on instagram on my phone and that's when I heard a ring, meaning someone had entered the coffee shop. At the door stood a tall thin man with scruffy blue hair and a white lab coat. Next to him was a child who was wearing a yellow shirt. The two guys approached the counter and started to look at the board behind me to see what they could order.
"how may I help you" i ask the two gentlemen.
"H-hey Rick can I have a strawberry milkshake" the young boy said while looking to the man with the scruffy blue hair.
"Sure M-Morty" he said looking at me staring into my eyes.
"and what do you want kind sir" I ask what I assumed was Rick.
"Can I-I have a coffee errghrp. One sugar and no milk."
"Sure I'll get them ready now." I respond as I watch the two walk to a table and sit down.
It was quiet in here with only us 3 so while the kettle was boiling for the coffee I decided to put on some relaxing music. The music blasted out of my phone and both Rick and Morty looked at me in shock.
When the drinks were made I carefully took them to their table and watched them drink it to see what they thought.
"This is pretty good. M-Made just the way I like it" Rick said yet again staring me in the eyes.
"This m-milkshake is the best!" Morty said with a big smile on his face.
"So. Is there anything else I can help you kind gentlemen with?" I ask when they had finished their drinks.
"There is o-one thing" Rick said as he winked as Morty which made Morty pull a confused look
"Could I-I get your phone number"
I couldn't tell if this guy was being serious or he was just taking me as a joke because I worked in a coffee shop.
"are you being serious?" I asked trying not to sound mad at him considering I only met him 40 minutes ago.
"Y-Yeah I'm being serious. You seem like a nice chick and so I-I wanted to stay in touch." Rick responded.
"You haven't even asked my name yet and you want my number" I said. By this point I was a bit pissed and I could tell this was a literal joke.
"W-Well" Rick leaned closer so he could read my name tag "(Y/N) may I have your phone number errghrp" Rick said sounding more polite this time.
I walked over to the counter and grabbed a napkin and a pen. I wrote down my number. I then handed Rick the napkin and he put it in his lab coat pocket for later.
"H-Hey Rick where did summer go?" Morty asked his grandpa.
"Oh fuck Morty I think w-we lost her" Rick said worried that he lost summer.
Beep beep.
Perfect timing my shift was over I could help these two find Summer. I looked at my watch to turn the beeping off
"Hey if you guys need any help my shift just fished so I can h-" I looked up to see that Rick and Morty were gone the bell to the door hadn't gone and there was the money for the drinks on the table and a note. I picked up the note. It read:
H-hey (Y/N),
By the time you're reading this we have probably found summer. We're safe at home now. Thanks for the drinks they were the best we've ever had. I'll send you a message later when Morty is in bed.
Rick x
Buzzzz
That was my phone. I had one new message from an unknown number. The message said
Hey this is the guy who wrote the note. I was thinking that i should get you icecream sometime. Maybe this Saturday perhaps at 10am I can bring Morty and summer along or it can just be us two.
I was surprised at how fast he wrote that note and left without me seeing him do either. But I was going to go on this date with him. It sounded like it would be fun.
~Time Skip to Saturday morning at 8am~
