When your love comes crashing down,
spitting and thundering,
making you cry out in fear and anguish,
it hurts like a bone cracked and put out to dry.
Crying silent tears like raindrops on a leaf of dew,
running down your cheeks,
tracing little rivers pooling in salty lakes
sparkling on your cheekbones.
Its the look that lies behind your eyes,
that hurts the most to people who watch you.
As they watch you fall apart your mind bursting with thoughts
showering your vision with cloudy spots.
All your love lies on the pavement by your feet
just waiting to be picked up by a cautious heart.
But with the caution comes the notion
that love cannot be regained by one so in pain.
Just try to heal,
try to see past the pain,
try to find another who will prove to be better,
and you will find the rainbows of a sunny day
that bloom across the sky after a thunderous night.
That’s when your love will bloom too.
