3rd Person perspective:
At the Children's Home, it was only Miss Peregrine, Enoch O'Connor, and Horace Somnusson at the time. Miss Peregrine was in Britain when she discovered a new peculiar that was on a circus wagon, unconscious. She took the young girl where it was safe and healed her wounds. When the peculiar woke up, she said she had no idea where she was or how she got there. "I don't remember much. I just remember being in New York to visit some close friends of mine. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and then everything went black. I'm Olive, by the way." She'd already known she was peculiar, and had obviously started manifesting years ago, considering she was sixteen years old. She had hair as red as fire, and eyes as green as leaves on a tree. "I am an ymbryne and I have a Children's Home in Cairnholm and it appears that you are in need of a home. It is your choice, of course, if you would like to come back with me." Miss Peregrine stated. "Really? I could stay with you?" Olive asked excitedly. "Of course! As an ymbryne, it is my duty and my honour to care for peculiar children such as yourself. You are welcome to live in my Children's Home for as long as you desire." Miss Peregrine said kindly. "Thank you so much Miss Peregrine!" Olive exclaimed.
Miss Peregrine's perspective:
As soon as Olive was healed and strong, we caught a ferry to Cairnholm. I explained to Olive that ymbrynes protect peculiar children from danger, but mostly the danger of hollows and wights. I also explained what hollows and wights are. She seemed to be very kind and caring, and it didn't entirely make sense to me why she would have such a destructive peculiarity. Soon enough, we got to Cairnholm and we walked to the Children's Home.
Olive's perspective:
When we entered the Children's Home, I was amazed at how big and beautiful the house was. Miss Peregrine knocked on the door and a blond, short teenaged boy greeted us at the door. "Oh, Horace! Meet our newest peculiar! Olive, meet Horace. Horace, meet Olive!" Miss Peregrine declared excitedly. "Nice to meet you, Olive. I'm Horace." Horace said. "Nice to meet you Horace!" Olive exclaimed. We stepped inside and the house was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside. What a wonderful place. I thought to myself.
Enoch's perspective:
I was sitting in my bedroom working on a new soldier, and I heard soft footsteps and a barely audible knock at my door. "Go away." I mumbled. I wasn't sure she heard me at first, but she stepped into my bedroom and quietly closed the door after her. "I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Olive and I'm new." She said shakily. "I got that." I said sarcastically. There was just something about her, her grey dress buttoned up to the throat, her dainty little white gloves that I assumed she had to wear, her vibrant green eyes, her fiery hair, her shy, passive personality. It slightly softened my mood at the moment.
Olive's perspective:
I was actually really nervous knocking on his door. Horace was nice, but when Miss Peregrine insisted that I meet the other peculiar living here, Horace warned me that he could be very temperamental. When I decided to enter, even though he had told me to go away, I noticed his soft brown eyes and curly, dark brown hair. I noticed the solemn expression on his face, his pale ivory skin, like moonlight, I thought to myself. "I'm Enoch." That's what he said to me. Not "I told you to go away" or "Are you deaf or just plain dumb?" Like I expected. I had absolutely no idea what to say next, so I said that Miss Peregrine was probably going to show me around. He said to me that he could show me around instead. I didn't want to be rude, and he seemed like an interesting, complex person, someone I would want to get to know, so I accepted. First, he showed me the foyer, classroom, Miss Peregrine's office, the kitchen, sitting room, dining room, and the parlour. Then, we went back upstairs and he showed me the bathroom and upstairs bedrooms. "This will be your bedroom. I'm right beside you, in fact, there's a door between the two bedrooms, but I suggest not to walk into my bedroom uninvited, because I just might do that to you while you're sleeping and scare the crap out of you if you do that to me. Clear?" Enoch stated confidently. But he didn't know Miss Peregrine heard him. "Watch your language! And don't threaten Olive! She's new and is probably scared. You should be helping her out, not tormenting her." Miss Peregrine chimed in. Enoch was a stubborn person, but he had enough respect for Miss Peregrine to not try to cross her. He shuffled back to his bedroom silently. "I was thinking you would like to start unpacking and getting used to your new bedroom." Miss Peregrine said, my bags in hand. "Okay. Thank you, Miss Peregrine." I said quietly before taking the bags and walking back into my bedroom.
