I sighed and slouched as I sat against my cell wall. I held my journal in my lap and a black ink pen in my left hand. I pulled my hair back and looked up at my empty cell. This place has been my home for many, many years. Ninety years to be exact.
No, I'm not some old crazy person in a jail cell. I'm not a bad person. Well, if you can even call me a person.
I tilted my head back down to the old yellow tinted pages in my journal and stared blankly as I recalled the thoughts written on the pages. I received this journal as a comfort item when I came here. My life is written on these pages. My secrets. My rants. My thoughts on who I am.
I flipped through the pages slowly, reading over my life. A grin on my face.
I inhaled deeply and smiled as I read some of the first pages. My writing was so messy. I looked at the date of the first page. March 5th 1910. I pulled memories of my first couple of days being transferred to this new facility. I was scared. I was only ten years old. I aged and acted like any normal human kid.
But I am not human. That's what they tell me. I'm not classified as a human being, yet my DNA and everything about me says I'm human. But I'm not. Well, I'm currently not.
I can change forms, into any living thing, extinct or not. Human isn't my natural form. I wasn't born a human.
I hatched from an egg.
I am a dragon.
