Snow's POV
I coughed and sputtered at the dust that was kicked up by my fall. How on earth did we manage to get robbed by two people. No, two kids when we had eight of our best guards? Granted one of them was undercover, but regardless we added on the extra detail for a reason in case of an attack by Regina. If two kids could best us then who was to say she couldn't either.
I sighed to myself, "Snow, you're just paranoid the guards are great," I went to stand up and rubbed the sore spot on my rear where I landed. "Those kids were just... better." My old thief side mused over how well of an executed plan that really was. They worked together like pros.
That fact made me grown. That only solidified my thoughts that they must have been doing this for a long time. I glanced down and bent to pick up the worn glove on the ground. About the same time, I heard hooves running towards me and followed the sound. "Snow!"
My husband didn't even fully stop before flailing off of the horse and pulling me into a hug. I hugged him back with a smile. Our embrace was short lived before he quickly started to look me over. "Are you hurt? Nothing's broken right? "
I smiled and held his hands tight. "I'm fine, really."
He visibly relaxed and looked down before looking back up. "I was so worried I was going to lose you. I mean what kind of husband would I be if I lost my new wife on the first day I get to bring her back from the honeymoon?" He was joking but I could tell there was a tinge of seriousness in his eyes.
I placed a hand on his cheek. "Don't you know we always find each other? Besides it'll be a lot harder than that to get rid of me. You're stuck with me for good." I winked right before he kissed me.
"And aren't I the luckiest man alive because of it." His dimpled cheeks gave way to his smile making me admire his handsome features. He was about to kiss me again when a throat cleared. We looked over.
"Sorry to interrupt sir, but the thieves?" The commander looked sheepish for interrupting us.
"Uhm right," He cleared his throat and we both fidgeted uneasily for getting so caught up in each other. "We should pursue them and they should be held for trial." David told them without hesitation.
I shook my head, "Actually I think just you and I should go." I blurted out.
David laughed, "You're kidding me right?" He stared at me. "You're not." He put his hands on his hips. "Now, tell me why just the two of us should trail after thieves who might I remind you just kidnapped you and threw you out of a moving carriage!?" His voice was raised and sounded exasperated.
"I think we should go after them because we have a better chance at capturing them than a horde of guards do. They don't trust authority so they'd split at the sign of anyone in a uniform. With us though we'd have far better chances! Plus there are only two of them so it can't be too hard to track them!" I could feel myself getting excited.
"Snow, they pulled off a heist like that with only two people... That doesn't reinforce your case. They're good which means our odds are even more slim. Whose to say they don't have a slew of friends just like them! We'd be walking into a trap. Besides by the time we reach them all our belongings will be sold off anyways. If we catch them we can try them and let them learn their lesson in prison."
"Trust me it's just the two of them. I know because if you remember correctly I was just like them except I worked alone. And the belongings, they won't keep them for themselves. They don't trust authority because of how it's spurned them. They didn't do this for themselves. They did this to help others. It's rather brilliant if i do say so myself."
