Charming's POV

We tied our horses outside of a shady tavern that was brought to life by all types of sounds coming from within. I still wasn't sure how I felt about this, but regardless I trusted my wife's judgement... Or at least I thought I did.

"Ok well, here goes nothing." She started to head towards the door.

"Woah, woah, woah." I stopped her. "Do you have a plan here or ...?"

She worried her lip. "Well the plan goes like this. We go to the door."

"Ok."

"We open the door," She continued and I nodded for her to go on. "And we walk in and decide the plan as we go."

"Sounds good- wait a second!" I told her as I grasped what she said. I was too late though and she was already through the door. I grimaced and followed after her to the bar.

Once there, the barkeep was working on drying some mugs. He eyed us over carefully. "The name is John.... and You two must be lost." He mused. "Royals don't come through here, especially ones with prices on their heads." He nodded over to the wanted poster of Snow.

"Those are outdated." She told him curtly and he eyed her over narrowly.

"Listen missus..."

"Mrs." She corrected awkwardly causing him to glance over at me.

"Right, well Mrs. I suggest you and your husband keep moving. I don't want any troubles here in my bar tonight."

"Are you refusing to serve us?" I countered.

"You haven't ordered so I can't refuse a man who hasn't requested anything." His voice was challenging and he had a glimmer in his eye.

"Fine then, an ale for the both of us." I put the money on the counter.

The barkeep took the money and eyed it over, "That's more than enough for two cups of ale. Are you trying to pay ole Albert's tab as well?" He nodded over to a drunkard halfway falling out of his seat. The old man hiccuped and raised his glass to us.

"Not exactly." I told him.

"Fine then, suit yourself. That's one hell of a tip." He put the money in his pocket. "Now if you'll be so kind as to exit my fine establishment."

"What about our ale?" Snow asked glancing over at me.

"What about it? I don't serve nobles or royals and the likes of you fall somewhere in that category so be on your way before I throw you out myself." He gave us a stern look and I could feel myself become agitated.

"Now listen here..." I started only to be cut off.

"No you listen here." He told me low so only we could hear. "We don't like nobles around these parts. Now I don't know you so I'm not going to start assuming your character but people who throw away money like you just did have too much to start with anyways. You may be nice people but around here you're all the same and we're the type of people who get screwed over in the end. So please don't make me ask you again to leave."

He was harsh but sincere with his words and I wasn't quite sure what to even say in response.

"Well lucky for your case, that was the last of our money." My wife told him sharply. "We have nothing more to us currently than our namesake. I swear we aren't here to cause trouble we're just here for information."

John worried his lip before deciding to believe Snow. He took a moment before resigning to get us both a draught of ale. He motioned us to a corner booth out of the way of prying ears.
