I've Been Waiting
“Don’t miss me too much now Britt.” Kieran said
“ Psst yea right. Its more like YOUR gonna miss MEE” I said sticking my tongue out childishly at my best friend.
He laughed and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. Not that I’m complaining. I mean he smells really good.

Kieran and I have been best friends since we were in diapers. We get on each others nerves and blame each other when things happen when our parents asks us who’s idea it was. But I always love him. Not only as a best friend but more than that.
As we got older I started developing feelings for him. Of course I never told Kieran. It might ruin our friendship and that’s the last thing I want.
But even if I wanted to I couldn’t. Kieran was leaving for the summer and won’t be back until September when school starts.
He might find some other girl over the summer and have a summer fling with her for all I know.
“Hey you ok?” Kieran asked bumping his shoulder with mine.
I looked up at him and smiled.” Yea I’m ok.”
We were sitting on the beach just watching the waves. Today’s the last day for us to hang out and then he’s off for the summer.
“Missing me already ha?” he joked
I just stared into his brown eyes.
“Britt?”
Why can’t I just tell him. I mean he’s my best friend. I’m suppose to be able to tell him anything.
UGHH
All of a sudden I felt him press his lips to mine.
What the..
He pulled back a couple seconds later.
“Sorry” He said looking away,
After I got over my shock I said “What was that for?”
“Umm I don’t know you just looked really cute sitting there…” He blushed
Awww Kieran blushed. WAIT did he just call me cute?
“Wait you think I’m cute?”
He faced turned even redder if that was possible. “Umm yea..”
We both just sat there for a minute or two until Kieran finally spoke up.
“Look Britt I’ve been wanting to tell you for a really long time know but I didn’t know how. So umm here goes nothing.” He took a pause and said “ I really like you and I want you to be my girlfriend.”
“Seriously?” I said a little breathless. I couldn’t believe my best friend just asked me to be his girlfriend.
“Seriously.” He smiled
“ I don’t know what to say”
“ Say yes? Please”
I smiled at him “ I would love to be your girlfriend.
