Over the weekend, she found it to be a fun little keepsake, she kept the wristband on nearly all weekend. Minus to shower. On Monday she was looking everywhere for him, but it seemed as though he was skipping again. Same with Tuesday... even until Friday... She waited another whole week, but that's all it took for Jay to think something was up. He recognized the band on her wrist and immediately assumed Beck and Duncan had begun dating. He didn't bring it up to Beck however, he instead decided to remain silently angry at the whole situation from the shadows. On Thursday of the week after, there was a police car parked in front of the school and Beck walked past it only to see Duncan in the back. He looked angry and upset. She looked around for the cop and didn't see him so she rapped on the window. He glanced up and for a moment his face lit up. “Princess!” Beck smiled at him and waved.
“You coming to school?” She spoke loudly, but used her hands to point to the school. A cop strode up behind her and Duncan straightened up. She turned around and shivered. “Ah.. oh um.. hi there...”
“Mister Bishop is going to be getting a police escort from this day on if he doesn't go back to school. Orders from his parole officer.” The officer opened the back door and Duncan got out. Beck smiled a little.
“You gotta stop skipping man.” She grinned and readjusted her backpack on her shoulder. He chuckled at her and stuffed his hands into his pockets.
“Yeah yeah whatever. Let's go.” She nodded, following him into the school as the police car drove off. “Thanks. I think you just saved me from a lecture.” She smiled.
“Cool. Oh. Here.” She held out her wrist to him. “This got knocked off in that fight with Jay. I picked it up but you were already gone, so...” He looked down and grasped the wristband, unsnapping it and putting it on his own wrist. However it seemed as though he'd gotten a new one. Unsnapping the new one, he slipped it onto Beck's wrist.
“I was hoping I hadn't lost this thing for good.” She nodded and looked around, only to see Jay staring at her from the side of the hall as they entered the school.
“Heh. Yeah.” She wiggled the new one on her wrist a little. Yet again it was a little big on her, but she didn't mind.
“You can keep that one. I don't need it anymore now that I got mine back.” He looked her over and his eyes scanned over her wrist then he inspected his wrist band. “Looks like you wore it a lot.” She shrugged and looked away from Jay.
“Y-yeah well I didn't want to lose it you know.”
“Sure princess.”
“I said don't call me that, bad boy.”
“You know you love it.” Beck sighed and looked away.
“Oh fuck you.” They stopped at their lockers. Beck began entering her combination as Duncan leaned against his locker, looking around at the passing students.
“You'd like that too much.”
“N-not even close.”
Later in the day, they ran into each other at their lockers again. “Hey princess. You got a pencil I can borrow?”
“Huh? Yeah... somewhere...” She began searching her pockets and handed him a pencil after finding one in her cargo pocket on the side of her pants. While taking it from her hand, he winked at her. A blush crawled across Beck's face as he walked away.
“He's quite the charmer, right?” A voice asked from behind her. She swung around and lowered her eyes at Jay.
“Go away. I don't want anything to do with you.” Jay chuckled.
“Sure you don't. Just like you don't want a piece of Duncan.” Beck growled in response. She put up her middle finger and grabbed her book, slamming her locker. Thinking better of it, she turned to look at him and lowered her eyes in a sexual way.
“Y'know what... I'm more attracted to him, then I ever was to you. Jason.” He hissed.
“Don't call me that.”
“It's your name isn't it? Look, leave me alone. You're just jealous that I've moved on and I'm not fawning over you anymore.” She stomped off towards her next and final class.
Once class was over she sighed heavily and walked into the hallway where she weaved through the crowd. She glanced up periodically, looking for Duncan. When she spotted him, she looked up fully. He shot a look towards her and began walking in her direction. Beck literally stopped in the middle of the hallway. “Had to make me walk all the way over here, huh?” The hallways were slowly emptying out since it was the end of the day. He'd stopped a few feet from Beck. Jessica was next to them, looking them over with her arms crossed over her picture-perfect chest. Beck jumped a little, unsure of where she'd come from exactly. “What do you want?”
“You know Duncan. You've fucked up big time. One day you're going to regret messing with me! Give it back!” Beck looked from Jessica to Duncan, wondering what the hell she was talking about. Duncan only chuckled in response.
“Oh? You mean this?” He pulled out a small pinkish purple wallet from his pocket, waving it in the air.
“Give. It. Back. I'm so sick of your crap!”
“How else was I supposed to get you to fuckin talk to me?”
“You don't.” She hissed. Beck took advantage of the moment and snatched the wallet from Duncan while he wasn't looking.
“Duncan, just drop it...” She spoke quietly, almost surprised at her own actions as she found herself handing Jessica the wallet back. Duncan scoffed at her, shot a quick glance at Jessica, then turned on his heel, walking off.
“Thanks... Becky.” Jessica was somewhere between thankful and uninterested.
“It's just.. Beck.” Beck corrected her and began walking off. She was surprised Jessica even knew her name. It was kind of an ego boost actually, a smile grew on her face as she found herself chasing after Duncan. She found him in a room off of the gym. “Duncan.” He looked towards her, his neck cracking slightly due to how quickly he'd turned. He hadn't really expected her to follow him.
