"Summer!"

Napalingon agad ako nang marinig ko na tinawag ako ni Tita Lerin, kinakabahan naman akong lumapit sakanya.

"Po?"

Ngiting-ngiti siya sakin at nagulat ako nang binuksan niya ang pinto, iniluwa naman nito ang isang napaka-gwapong lalaki, matipuno, maputi, matangkad. Malawak din ang ngiti niya nang masulyapan ang Tita ko.

I was 5 years old when I met Tita's boyfriend.

"Summer, this is your Tito Richard," niyakap niya ang kaliwang braso nito at humagikgik pa siya animong kinikilig.

"Nice to meet you, Summer." He smiled and looked at my Auntie, napaka-ganda at gwapo nila, iyon lang ang nagpapatunay na bagay sila. They looked so perfect for each other. "Kamukha mo ang pamangkin mo, parang anak na natin in the future."

Nahihiya naman akong ngumiti sakanila, it was good back then. Lagi silang magkasama ng Tita ko, at isinasama din nila ako sa mga dates nila minsan. I witnessed how their love for each other looked like, ang perpekto sa paningin ko, naiisip ko din na kapag dumating ba ang panahon na nasa legal age na ako ganito rin ba ang mararanasan ko?

But suddenly, Everything changes, nothing stays the same.

Nakita ko din kung paano sila magaway, magkasakitan, magiyakan.. I was the number one fan of their relationship. I learned that nothing goes the same for years, nagbago na ang pagtingin ko sakanila. From warm love, it became cold.

I felt sad for my Aunt, she deserves everything.. she doesn't deserve to be hurt, she doesn't deserve to cry the whole day, she doesn't deserve to be left.

"Richard please stay.."

I saw how she begged just for him to stay, umiling ito at kitang-kita ko na madilim ang awra niya.

"I'm sorry, Lerin, it doesn't work this way.."

After he left.. my aunt's voice roared at our house, she was left there crying and everything. She doesn't look the same anymore.

I'm sure it was a nightmare for her, she wakes  up and sleep in pain, she doesn't even eat right anymore, she doesn't even smile the same as before, it was all gone.

"Lerin, it was just a boy for pete's sake! Marami dyang iba! Ano ba'ng pinagiisip mo iha? Look at you! You're a big mess!" Lola shouted, she was living peacefully at the States but when she heard everything about her daughter, she flew back as soon as possible. "I can't believe this! Masyado mo'ng sinisira ang buhay mo! It's just a boy, I'm sure you can find another one in a week!"

She hugged her knees, "He's my everything.." she almost whispered.

"What is going in your mind? Ikaw pa ba ang anak ko? You're losing everything! You don't go to school! You don't eat! You stay here every damn day! Naiisip mo pa ba ang magulang at kapatid mo?" napapikit nalang ako habang sumisilip sa maliit na awang sa pintuan ng kwarto ni Tita.

"Bata ka pa, it's just a puppy love! Masyado kang nagseseryoso kaya nasasaktan ka!"

Mas lalo akong nakaramdam ng awa para sa aunt ko nang marinig ko ang hikbi niya.
