Jungkook was never stubborn. When his mommy told him it was naptime, he'd often fall face-first into his comforter, his baby butt sticking out in the air, and try to fall asleep before his mother or father could turn on his mobile and wrap him up in his blanky.
When Jin asked the kids to clean up, Jungkook would be first to pick up his plushy or whatever toy he'd be playing with, and toss it into the toy bin (whether or not it be the right place), and then tsking in a baby babble at his hyungs when they kept playing with their toys, asking for a longer time.
But today, it was strangely different.
Jungkook woke up with a scowl on his face, shaking his head furiously to shake off Jin's loving hand when the mother tried brushing the hair out of Jungkook's eyes gently.
Jungkook grabbed for his stuffed toy rabbit and began gnawing at its ear while Jin changed his diaper. It didn't take long for the mother to realise he was teething.
"Joon! I'd read on the internet that we can cool down a baby's gums to reduce teething pain," Jin called, holding Jungkook on his hip. "Could you get a damp cloth in the freezer? take it out later, okay? and then bundle it up and wrap it up in another cloth, then just hold it onto Kookie's gums."
"Yeah, okay, Dear," Namjoon said, reaching to take Jungkook. Seokjin had to go grocery shopping, which he'd been putting off all week for once. But that was because he went on one of his design rampages, and he began binge-eating again. Namjoon wondered if Jin was pregnant again.
"Any reminders on what you need from the store?" Jin asked, pulling on Namjoon's jean jacket.
"Hobi could use some new animal biscuits. He deserves to get those new grape flavors," Namjoon said, pulling Seokjin in to kiss his lips.
"OK," Seokjin said. "Bye, love you! And don't forget, The kids are getting off school early today since there's a field trip."
Namjoon promised he'd remember, and went down to the kitchen to get that unused washcloth under the tap to put in the freezer.
Jungkook started whining, whimpering, thumping Namjoon's shoulder.
"Do your gums hurt, Sweetie?" Namjoon whispered softly, which always soothed Jungkook. He calmed down a small fraction now, and Namjoon patted and rubbed his small back.
Namjoon gave Jungkook one of the fat, red spoons used when feeding Jungkook congee or other stuff. He immediately shoved the handle in his mouth and chewing on it, dribble falling out of his mouth. He broke into a grin, and bounced himself happily in Namjoon's hold.
Taehyung called for Namjoon then (Tae was always more asking for Namjoon than Jin because Namjoon never made a big deal about anything).
Namjoon was out of work that day since he was kind of sick.
Okay. So he was sick two days ago.
But Tae, Jimin and Hoseok begged him not to go to work, so could he help it?
"Good morning, my sweet angel," Namjoon said, sitting down next to Taehyung, who had just woken up.
"Appa, egg," Taehyung said, standing up. He was wearing just a t shirt with his diaper on, because it was the middle of summer, and Jin was worried that the kids would be too hot in their usual onesies. Taehyung also liked walking around without pants, because, through words of Jimin, Taehyung liked being o'natural.
"Of course, Honey," Namjoon said, kissing Taehyung's forehead.
Namjoon put Jungkook in his crawler, and while he'd usually roll around happily, now he just stayed in one place, chewing on his spoon handle.
Taehyung sat in the living room in his chair next to the unmoving Jungkook, while Namjoon went to make eggs. He's found himself getting quite good with egg-making, despite his complete ignorance in the kitchen just a few weeks ago.
He cut up some sausages and added cheese to the eggs, and when he was done, he garnished each omelette with some parsley(or something...)
Taehyung applauded when he was sitting in his high chair, Jungkook being placed beside him.
Jungkook turned away from the bottle of milk formula that Namjoon made and attempted to feed him. "no..." Jungkook gurgled, continuing to chew on his spoon.
"You can't suck on that spoon until you're full, Kookie!" Namjoon said. He started to think of how Jungkook wasn't going to have only two tiny baby front teeth anymore. It made him sad, but he knew it was good. Jungkook was so small. It would be nice for him to grow a little.
"Like Tae," Taehyung said proudly, patting his chest. He ate a big chunk of egg, just to prove a point.

"I bought Kookie a teether," Jin announced at dinner.
Jungkook finally drank some milk when Jin cradled him to nap, eyes droopy and tiny hands clutching the bottle as much as he could. It kept slipping out of his hands, though, like how a sleepy little boy would nod off.
"Is a toy?" Jimin asked, through a mouthful of his riceball.
"No, it's to help the baby because his teeth are coming out, so it hurts," Yoongi said wisely, because he'd remembered Taehyung teething and being grouchy.
"Oh," Jimin said. "Is that why he doesn't wanna play?"
"He'll go back to his old self soon enough," Jin assured Jimin and all the brothers. "Honest. You should have seen yourselves when you four were teething." He popped a spoonful of rice into Taehyung's gaping mouth. Jin lightly tapped the kid's chin so Taehyung would shut his mouth and chew before his saliva began dripping out of his mouth.
"I was a good baby, wasn't I, Eomma," Hoseok said proudly, crossing his arms over his chest, his spoon sticking out of his mouth.
"You weren't," Yoongi said simply, taking another bite of his rice.
"I was," Hoseok insisted, glaring at his older brother. "You don't know. You were only five."
"Your memory starts developing when you're three," Yoongi replied, self-satisfied. Jimin sat up, raising his hand. "I read that!" he said.
"None of you were easy teethers," Namjoon deadpanned. "It's just a family thing. Or . . . an entire world thing. Nobody likes having tiny pearls sprouting out of your mouth - that hurts a lot."
As if on cue, Jungkook started squealing from his baby rocker next to the dinner table. "The baby's awake!" Jimin said loudly as if he were a siren.
"He needs to nurse," Seokjin said when Jungkook's fist clenched in Seokjin's shirt. "We'll talk about who had the worst terrible twos later." Yoongi groaned, seemingly the only person embarrassed by stories of him pooping his pants and eating glue and crayons, while everyone else was cheering in excitement. Namjoon was getting glossy-eyed at the nostalgia.
