The guests enjoyed the party to it's full extent, all had at least a small buzz from the alcohol they had consumed. And yes, that includes Ciel. The young Earl retired early because of that, claiming that it made him aware that he was not at his best. The other guests soon followed.
The servants were going about their duties when one of the bells from a guest room rang. Mey-Rin sluggishly walked over to see which room it was.
"It's Heir von Siemens' room!" she exclaimed. "Sebastian, please don't make me go up there by myself! He had his paws all over me earlier!"
"Alright," Sebastian answered, setting down the cloth he was holding.
Because of curiosity, Baldroy and Finny tagged along. When the group reached the room, Sebastian knocked lightly on the dark wood of the door.
"Heir von Siemens?" Sebastian addressed. "You called?"
A crash was heard from inside the room. Many of the other guests congregated to the hallway.
"Sir, are you alright, we heard a crash," Finny shouted.
"What's going on?" Ms. Diaz questioned, stepping out of her room.
Before anyone could answer, a muffled cry came from inside the room.
"Sir, we're coming in," Sebastian called, when he tried the handle, it didn't budge. "Stay back."
Sebastian pushed Finny out of the way and sent a swift kick flying into to door near the lock. With one more kick, the door went flying open.
The sight that beheld the Phantomhive guests was one none of them will ever forget. Heir Georg von Siemens sat dead in the armchair by the fireplace. Blood had soaked through the man's shirt and his eyes were still open.
A scream emitted from the mouth of Ms. Diaz upon seeing his body. All of the guests were stunned by seeing one of their party mates in such a gruesome state.
"What's going on here?" Ciel asked groggily.
Instead of answering, the guests simply moved aside so Ciel could see. The young Earl's eyes grew wide and his jaw dropped slightly.
"I hate to ignore the situation," Baldroy spoke up. "But is it bloody hot in here to anyone else?"
The question went ignored as the guests began frantically stating alibis, accusing other guests, and wondering aloud about the fact that they had a locked room murder presented to them.
"Stop!" Dr. Arthur shouted. "We need to make sense of this situation. Everyone needs to state their alibis."
"Well Grimsby and I were with Mr. Phelps and Mr. Grey in the lounge," Ms. Diaz spoke.
"And all of us servants were kitchen," Finny announced.
"And Mr. Woodley, Lau, Ran-Mau and I were in the billiards room," Dr. Arthur stated.
"But that just leaves the Earl now doesn't it?" Lau smiled, strangely calm.
"Yes!" Grimsby exclaimed. "Where were you?!"
"I was asleep, in my room," Ciel sighed.
"Can anyone prove that?" Dr. Arthur questioned.
"No," he admitted.
"Well I hate to say it Earl Phantomhive, but you are the only suspect," Mr. Woodley claimed.
"So it seems," Sebastian murmured, only audible to Ciel.
"Dr. Arthur," Mr. Grey said. "It's very late, and I'm sure everyone would like to sleep, would you be so kind to chain yourself to the Earl tonight?"
"Umm..." Dr. Arthur began to answer.
"Wow, thanks for agreeing, I already feel much safer," Mr. Grey interrupted.
Thus, Dr. Arthur ended up spending the night chained to an alleged murderer, who just so happened to also be a man. Needless to say it was a position that he never thought he would be in.
Ciel however, was not at all perturbed by the situation. Because of his relationship with Sebastian, he had shared many a night in bed with a man.
"Can I ask you a question My Lord?" Dr. Arthur asked. "Well two questions actually."
"Yes," Ciel affirmed. "Go ahead, and you don't need to call me that, my name is Ciel for a reason."
"O-okay," Dr. Arthur stammered. "Well, my first question, do you wear that eye patch all the time?"
"Mostly when people are around. I feel as if people saw what is underneath it may put them off. I assure you Doctor, it is no pretty sight," Ciel answered. "Your second question?"
"That's an interesting explanation," Dr. Arthur commented. "And my second question may be a bit awkward for you to answer so you don't have to if you don't want to, but why is it that you seem so casual having to share a bed with another man?"
"There is a simple answer to that believe it or not," Ciel answered.
Dr. Arthur was slightly taken aback by that answer. He half expected there to be a long complicated story.
"Because I've done it before," Ciel continued.
"WHAT?!" Dr. Arthur exclaimed.
"You heard me perfectly well," Ciel declared. "I'm okay with the situation because I've done it before."
"With who?" Dr. Arthur blurted slapping his hand over his mouth. "If you don't mind me asking."
"I don't mind," Ciel chuckled. "I have shared my bed with my butler, Sebastian."
Dr. Arthur's jaw dropped.
"Your comment earlier, about Sebastian and I acting like friends, I told you that you were right. I lied, we are much more than that," Ciel confessed. "Now Doctor, we should get some rest, I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be taxing. Goodnight."
Ciel rolled onto his side leaving Dr. Arthur sitting on his side of the bed dumbfounded and slightly more uncomfortable than he was before. He really should have just stayed home and listened to his gut. If he had, he would not be in this situation at all. Next time he received a mysterious invitation from an Earl, he'd be damn sure not to accept.
