When we got up there, she turned towards me and asked,

"Did you see that?? Did you hear that?? Oh my gosh, he was so close to my face!"

I smiled at her taking her by the hands.

I said, "Remember, no matter what happens we are best friends."

She said, "Yep, that's right we sure are."

I said, "And best friends tell each other everything right?"

She nodded her head but then looked worried.

She said, "Why, what have you found out?"

I looked at her questionable and said, "Nothing?"

She was relieved and said, "Whew good."

I gave her another questioning look.

She touched my shoulder lightly and said, "Trust me."

I came back downstairs to see Dustin pacing back and forth nervously.

I said, "Baby, are you ok?"

I felt bad calling him that with Johnny sitting right there.

I still have feelings for Johnny.

I don't know if I can go through this anymore.

Dustin said, "Can we talk outside?"

I gave him a weak, "Sure."

Johnny watched as he took me by the hand leading me outside.

He took me to the lot which wasn't as far as I thought he was going to take me.

I kept thinking about school.

As I laid there under his arm, I thought up a question I just had to ask.

I looked up at him and said, "Why does my brother hate you?"

He smiled and answered, "Four years ago. When we were both fourteen, we were at this rumble."

I looked up at him as he looked like he was playing it over again in his head.
