Chapter 2.

He found her covered in blood and sweat. Looking out of the room that bed his sister, he saw time was still frozen and took to cleaning the mess that was the Shade. The bloodied female looked torn. He could see that her skin was turning a lovely shade of blue and black. The dead body disappeared with a flick of the Hunter's wrist as did the blood and any proof there was a battle there. Turning to face the unconscious form of the Magyk, he reached for her and picked up the limp body. Immediately the feel of cracked ribs tore at his heart. The woman who blamed herself for his sister's injuries didn't deserve this.

Even though it went against all that was Inner Circle code, he started the healing process. A process he was glad she was unconscious for. He could feel her bones move and fuse back together and watched as the bruises slowly begin to yellow and finally vanish completely. After a few moments of just holding her, Hunter began to feel the woman in his arms stir. Without thinking, he smiled. As the Magyk's eyes opened he nearly flew from the Hunter's arms. At first she was dazed and thought he was an enemy. Until she smelt his scent. Her whole body relaxed and she moved her hand to see that there were no longer any major injuries to her body. “Y..You healed me?”

“I had to, My Bird.” He said. The sound of his voice nearly brought her to her knees but there was no way in the seven Hells would she let him know that. When it finally registered to her that he had been explaining what happened and why he had healed her, he was finished talking and giving her a bewildered look. “Are you okay? You seemed dazed still.”

“No, I am fine, thank you for asking though. I have to go.” She started for the door but was stopped as his hand grabbed her wrist.

“Why are you here?” Hunter asked, turning to face his sister's bed.

“I entered her memories tonight. I wanted to make sure she was still alive.” Fenix said almost too casually. Pulling her arm from his grasp, she walked out the door and waved good-bye to the night time nurse who was coming in to check Elise's charts and monitors. She could hear Hunter and the nurse talking as she walked away. Tears flowing from her eyes with abandon. How she hated seeing him. Enemies after what happened to them. A promise to one another they would never be able to keep. It wasn't fair. She knew it wasn't but there was still hope.

Hunter talked to the nurse about his sister. There was still no improvement other than a jump from her brain monitor. He knew that must have been Fenix's doing so he had rushed to the Hospital to find the Special Magyk buried under the dead body of a Shade. One of his mentors whom he surpassed many a year ago. The male was not particularly happy about the sight but seeing as the Shade would do anything to regain his soul, entering a public place and even the Leader of the Inner Circle's sister's room was not below him if a Magyk was involved. Once the nurse had left, he walked to his sister's bed, kissed her forehead, and promised her he would be back soon before taking off and searching the Essence that was Fenix.

(Sorry about the short chapter, the next will be longer, I promise)
