"So, how did school go?" Mom asked as I walked in, "Did you talk to her?"
"Same as usual." I stated, catching my mothers disappointed look out of the corner of my eye as I headed up to my room. I opened the door and threw my bag onto the ground next to my dresser, took off my shoes, and sat on my bed. It was just me, my mom, my older sister, and our cats. There were no wicked step parents or siblings, just us. The supposed king walked out when I was four and mom never talked about him. Star wasn't as young as I was, it being just before her eighth birthday when he did. She did miss him, her and mom both. But how? How could they miss someone who walked out on them-on us? Who didn't love us enough to stay. How could they miss a 'king' who didn't even care about his own people, his family?
Mom never found someone after that, and that was fine. We didn't need any useless boys - sorry, men - in the house. Us women could handle ourselves perfectly fine. And we did.
Both mom and Star were very supportive when I told them about my crush on the princess. Both of them remembering the sweet girl from my childhood before we moved. We were friends before I left and disappeared for about six years. Lets just say things happened in those six years and people changed. The once innocent eight year old came back knowing more about life and pain them most of her teachers.
Nobody remembered me. I was the new girl that was quickly pushed aside as she was an outsider. But I wasn't. I just didn't tell them that. It was fun knowing a lot about people and them knowing nothing about you. But it was sad, the princess and the peasant used to be the best of friends before they both had to grow up.
She didn't even remember me when I came back. Heck, she barely even spared me a glance! I knew a lot of people wouldn't remember me since I wasn't able to keep in contact with them, but for them to not remember me at all just hurt. I didn't try to make the remember, they obviously didn't care.
I didn't realize I was falling for Luna until my sophomore year. I knew I felt something different for her, bit I thought that it was just disappointment in her. Oh, how wrong was I.
It happened at my sisters twentieth birthday party. Mom was out of town for a business trip, so I was hanging around downstairs when a group of people started a game of truth or dare. We had gone a couple of rounds fairly safe, until Stars boyfriend dared a girl, Tasha, to kiss me. We all knew he had some sort of kink for girls kissing girls, so, as we were both extremely tipsy, we did it. It was only a couple of seconds, but those seconds changed my life forever.
For the rest of the night, I couldn't help bit notice how attractive all the girls there were. And it wasn't just a 'Oh, I love her hair!' type thing, no. I noticed everything. The way their bodies moved when they danced, to the way they sat down and drank, and how their personalities changed when they talked with different people. At the end of the year, I came out to the both of them. Ever since then, they've both been so supportive of my crush.
Well, almost fully supportive. Mom still thinks that I could be going through a faze just because I've never had any luck with boys.
But Star and I know better than that.
