The Change

Len thought about what Rin said yesterday, "To teach her," Len thought.

There he was standing in front the grand piano, he was alone in the music room. The door creaked open,

"Kagamine-kun! I thought I'd see you here!" Rin cheerfully said, she walked towards Len.

"Kagamine-kun, is there something wrong?" Rin asked,

"N-No, nothing." Len smiled.

"Hmmm, Look! I really want to play this," Rin said, handing Len the music sheets.

"Ahh, this were the ones you left," Len said.

"Yeah, and I wrote it!" Rin said.

"A purple butterfly on your right shoulder, sound of a pianos rebounded," Len muttered,reading the lyrics.

"Listen," Rin said, she sat down and started playing the piano.

"It sounds really simple when you play, and you play some of the notes too early," Len said.

"Can you show me the correct way?"

"Uhm, Sure," Len said, He slowly sat down and looked at the keys.

*Gulp* "Just play for her," Len thought, Len played the piece.

"That sounds amazing!" Rin exclaimed, "You're a very good player, Kagamine-kun!"

Len continued playing, this time he added new keys and notes. Rin started humming,

"A purple buttefly on your right shoulder, sound of a piano rebounded," Rin sang.

Len stood up and ran outside the door, "Kagamine-kun! Hey! Wait!" Rin exclaimed. She took her bag and followed Len, he was heading to the rooftop.

"K-Kagamine-kun!" Rin said, gasping.

Len was there, gazing at the sky. "Mom, Dad." Len muttered.

"Kagamine-kun there is something wrong," Rin said taking a seat beside Len, Rin looked at Len's face and saw two mournful eyes.

"Pfft- I'm pathetic," Len chuckled,

"You're not pathetic, there's just a reason why you acted like that, and you can tell me," Rin said, giving Len a handkerchief.

Len heaved a heavy sigh, "It happened years ago, when I was in middle school,I was a good pianist for my age back then,"

"Kagamine-kun, d-don't force yourself-" Rin said.

"I wanted a grand piano for my birthday that time, my parents wanted to go to another country just to buy me the grandest piano ever made, but the plane they were riding crashed,"

"K-kagamine-"

"And I was the reason why they were on that plane," Len said in a choky voice, tears falling down his cheeks.

"Y-You shouldn't blame yourself-" Rin said.

"From that day, I promised to stop playing the piano," Len said.

"I-I'm sorry-"

"And you are the person who made me play again, Rin-chan," Len continued, facing Rin with mournful eyes, slightly smiling.

"T-Thank you, Rin-chan!" Len exclaimed, giving Rin a hug.

Rin tried to escape Len's tight grip,but somehow she felt comfortable in Len's arms.

"L-Len-kun, I'm sorry for bringing up the topic," Rin apologized, responding to Len's hug.

Len let go of Rin, "H-Here!" Rin stammered, handing Len a bento.

"B-Bento, for me?" Len asked.

"U-Uh, Yes, Onee-chan thought of it," Rin said slightly flushing.

"Thank you , Rin-chan," Len said flashing Rin a sweet smile.

"Wait, were suddenly calling each other with our first names," Rin thought, the fact made her heart beat faster.

"-You're welcome!" Rin exclaimed.

"We better go now, break time is almost over," Len said giving Rin a hand.

"Yeah," Rin took his hands and got up, they walked together towards the classroom, oblivious about holding hands. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Another day," Len yawned, classes were finally over for the day. Len quickly ran to the rooftop, avoiding invitations especially from girls.

"Haaaaaaah~" Len yawned, stretching his arms, "Boy I'm tired," he muttered.

"Len-kun," a familiar voice chimed,

"Shit! I've been spotted!" Len thought.

He turned around and saw Miku, "Ah, Miku-chan! I'm sorry about-"

"I'll try my best to be like Rin," Miku said.

"Wait, what? Rin?" Len asked.

"She's so lucky, of all the girls who has a crush on you, she's the only one who got your attention, "Miku continued.

"Wah? Lucky? What lucky?" Len thought, "What do you mean?" Len said,

"Stop hiding it Len, I'm getting jealous," Miku said.

"Miku, I really don't know what you're saying. Me and Rin aren't dating," Len insisted.

"You even call her with her first name,everybody knows or thinks that you two are dating," Miku said.

"Miku-"

"I saw her alone in the classroom, she's probably waiting for you. Go now Len, I'll get you someday!" Miku said, skipping away.

"Uggh, how'd things go upside down so fast?" Len thought, walking down the hallway. He stopped to see if there was somebody in the classroom, "Rin-chan" Len thought. "Ughh," Len muttered, slapping his forehead. He took his things and headed home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"How'd it go?" Neru asked,

"He ate it,end of story," Rin said.

"Ooh my Little Rin-chan is so heartless, you're not like your sister a Casanova," Neru pouted.

"He didn't even kiss you?"

"Onee-chan! We're not an item! And we don't like each other," Rin insisted, slightly flushing.

"Then why does your heart beat fast when he's around?" Rin thought.

"Oh, really? Invite him to Mom's birthday party then and let him play the piano!" Neru teased.

"Oh yeah, mom's birthday is on Sunday!" Rin thought.

"Onee-chan! Mom and Len-kun don't know each other!" Rin exclaimed.

"Whoever that is Rin-chan if it's your friend, I would love to have him or her on my birthday!" Rin's mom said.

"Way to butt in mom! You even call him with his first name!" Neru teased.

"So it's a He! Rin-chan as a parent I would like to meet your special someone!" Rin's mom laughed.

"What's up with you two!" Rin said and ran to her room.

"Tell me,what is he like Neru?"

"Well I saw him and his cute and handsome. Rin said he's nice, caring and he's a pianist!" Neru exclaimed.

"Oh! Your dad and I would love another pianist added onto our family!" she laughed.

"But Rin said they're not boyfriend and girlfriend yet and that they don't like each other, but Rin seems to ignore it." Neru said.

"Ooh we'll find it out, c'mon call your sister for dinner."
