Glad You Came

When Nathan came back from dropping Taylor off, I was asleep. I woke up to find Nathan staring at me. I blinked my eyes and said "Why are you staring at me? And don't even try to say it's because I'm perfect cuz I'm not." He put on a pouty face and said "But you are." I smiled and said "Whatever you think." He smiled and said "I won then." I laughed and said "You wish!" He had walked into the kitchen at that point and I followed him in there. He walked up behind me and put his arms around me. He rocked me in his arms. I said "Nath." He kissed my head. I said again "Come on Nath." He finally twirled me around so I would be facing him. He said "What?" I frowned and said "Never mind. I'm gonna go take a shower. You can go to your hotel or just hang out here."  I started to walk away but Nathan grabbed my arm and turned me around. He kissed me then said “I want to tell you something when you’re done. I’ll wait here.” I smiled and said “Kay, I’ll be quick.” I gave him a quick kiss then went to take a shower. When I was done, I slipped into a pair of plain black shorts and my zombie walk t-shirt. I walked to the living room and found Nathan watching TV. I walked up and sat next to him on the couch.

                He looked at me and said “I realized we have never had an official date. So, will you go on a date with me Melanie Meyer?” I blushed while smiling and said “Of course I will Nath!” He hugged me and said “While you were in the shower, I looked up some restaurants. You okay going out on out first date tonight?” I frowned and said “You can’t really take me anywhere decent in this.” I pointed to my outfit. He smiled and said “I’m sure you have some other clothes you could wear. Come on, I have a surprise for you. You just have to wear something nice.” I sighed and said “Fine, but this better be impressive.” He smiled and said “It will be. Now hurry up and get changed then get into the car waiting for you outside.  And don’t freak out because it is going to be a different car.” I was confused but said “Kay, I’ll go put something nice on.” He smiled and said “See you soon,” while I was walking to my room. I quickly found my black dress with the beaded neckline and slipped it on. I threw on my black tights and a pair of black shoes with little holes and 1 inch wedges. Then I ran to the front.

                I walked out of my house and locked the front door. I had locked the back door before I even went to the front yard. I quickly jumped down the stairs and saw a car. Like Nathan had said, it wasn’t the one he had been driving. I got in though, he had told me to and I trusted him. I was going to get in the front seat but saw a person was already sitting there. I couldn’t tell who it was through the tinted windows though. I started to get into the back seat when someone slipped a bandana over my eyes. I started to freak out and yelled “What the fuck is going on?” I started thrashing around and heard a British accent say “Good god Melanie! Calm down! It’s just us.” I continued thrashing around and said “How the hell am I supposed to know who you are if I can’t see you?” I heard a bunch of laughing then “It’s Jay, Max, Tom, and Siva.” I frowned and said “Why did you blind fold me then? It’s not like your kidnappers or anything. So, can I take this bandana off?” I heard them laugh then say “You wish. We can’t let you see where we’re taking you. Nathan’s rules.” I frowned and said “Not a great first date so far. But whatever.” I heard one of them laughing then someone said after about twenty minutes of driving “We’re here. Now I’ll take your blindfold off.” The blind fold blocking my sight came off and I saw it was Jay who was talking. He helped me out of the car and pulled his phone out to text someone. He then told me “Wait here. In about five minutes, start walking forward. Okay?” I was immensely confused but nodded and said “Um, ok.” Jay smiled then said “See you soon!” Then he ran off.

                I stood by the car and waited. I looked around and noticed we were in a park downtown though. I couldn’t remember its name, but I knew it because it was where the zombie walk started. I checked my phone when Nathan ran off and saw it was 5 pm. I checked it now and saw it was 5:O7 pm. I started to walk forward and saw Jay and Siva, each holding a single white rose in their hands. I stopped in the middle of them and they both handed me their roses then ran off. I continued walking and saw Max and Tom holding white roses also. I stopped by them and they handed me the roses then ran off again. I just continued walking, I saw Jay and Siva again, but this time they were both holding three roses. Again, they handed them to me and ran off. My hands were starting to get full with the ten white roses in it. I still continued on, even though I was starting to feel awkward walking through a park in a fancy dress with a hand full of white roses. Of course, I saw Tom and Max again. They were holding three white roses each and they handed them to me and then said in unison “Go to the bandstand.” Then they smiled and ran off again.

                I walked towards the bandstand and saw a band up there. I was confused but kept walking. Once I got closer, I could tell it was The Wanted. I walked up the stairs to find Nathan holding a single red rose. I walked up the stairs and he handed it to me and said “I was going to say that you’re one in a million and give you a million roses, but that would’ve taken far too long. But you are my one and only.” He smiled then kissed me. I was blushing majorly and looked up and whispered in his ear “I really love you Nath.” He smiled and engulfed me in a hug. “I love you so much more than you could ever imagine Melanie.” I smiled and he smiled. Of course, the rest of the guys were in the background making kissing faces and smooching sounds. I laughed and he smiled. I loved his smile. I loved everything about Nathan.

                He quickly said “Do you want to go get dinner. I know your favorite restaurant.” He playfully hit my arm then and I said “Okay, but if you’re so positive you know my favorite restaurant, then what is it?” He smiled and said “Kobe.” I made a pouty face and said “Darn it! You did know!” He smiled and nodded. I asked him “It’s just gonna be us, right? Or are the guys coming?” Nathan whispered “I was hoping for it to just be us, but I’m pretty sure we’re stuck with them. We can just sit at a different table.” I smiled and said “Agreed.” Nathan and I drove Nathans rented car while the rest of the guys drove the car I came to the park in. We all ate at Kobe, but me and Nathan ended up having our own table. We talked and he ended up coming back to my house to watch a movie while the guys stayed in their hotel. I fell asleep on Nathan like usual, but it was nice to know he was there. It was comforting to know someone truly loved me.

COMMENTARY
