Trapped in the monotony of daily life, the two were near inseparable. They did everything together, as they were the best of friends. The fire in their hearts burned with a passion neither of them had ever known. They loved each other, though neither of them would ever admit it. The two each had their own relationships, and both of them were happy with their situations. Days, weeks, and months passed with nothing unusual occurring. But on the final day of their time together before summer break, they went out to the movies with their respective dates. They each enjoyed it until the end, where the girl left the movies in tears. Her date had said that they couldn't continue seeing each other. The boy, as her friend, ran after her, leaving his own date behind. He tries to comfort her, but only succeeds in maker her mad. She yells at him, "What do you know!? Things always go your way!" He tries to explain, but she keeps yelling, "How are you so blind! I love you, not him! I hate you!" And she runs into the cross-walk. He yells to her, "I love you too!" She stops, and turns, a look of surprise on her face. A light flashes in the corner of their vision. Cars whiz by, a trickling sounds in the drain on the other side of the street, though there was no rain. A loud thump and a screech of breaking cars follows, screams are heard. A body hits the ground.
