"You heard that right?" Cassandra was afraid to turn around. "Yeah..." Then both of the girls' vision went black. Vanessa awoke in her bed. She rushed downstairs, but the sink was empty and the floor was clean. Cassandra was sitting at the table looking startled. "You're looking for the mice aren't you." Vanessa was startled by her voice. "Yeah... did you clean up?" Vanessa said, looking at her friend. Cassandra looked away from the nothingness she was previously focused on and starred at her friend with wide eyes. "The mouse maiden took them... she ate them... then licked the blood off the floor... I'm assuming it was mouse blood..." Vanessa looked at her friend in shock. "We have to call the cops!" She said in fright. "No use. She's a supernatural creature. She gets to choose who can see her. No way she would let the cops think we're telling the truth." Cassandra starred out the window. "We have to leave the house then!" Vanessa was desperate. "Also no use. She has us trapped. We just have to wait it out." "Wait till she lets us go?" Vanessa was really hoping this was the case, but deep down, she knew it wasn't. "No. We wait until she kills us." Vanessa broke into tears and continue speaking. "I'll never see JJ again!" She was crying over her boyfriend. "Jonathan was cheating on you." Cassandra said, not caring about anything anymore. "What!? That---" Vanessa didn't like swearing, but this on top of everything else made her want to scream, so she did, Cassandra had never heard Vanessa swear so loud or so much. "Are you done?" Cassandra looked tired and sad. "Yeah..." Vanessa's voice was hoarse from screaming. Then a mouse ran under her feet. She screamed and a low, creepy giggle came from the doorway to the other room. "Afraid of mice are you?"
