Chapter 13:
Erikka's P.o.v.
I shoved a pillow into the plane window, trying unsuccessfully to make it a little more comfortable. Letting out a huff, I stood up to grab my sweatshirt from the overhead carry-on thing. I probably should have been freaking out since it was my first time on an airplane, but I was more annoyed than anything.
Leo had refused to even glance at me on the whole ride, proving I was the mature one for once. And to top it off, some girl let me borrow her iPhone to check my (a/n: @rikki_the_klutz_queen is a real account!) and Blake hadn't followed me yet!
After returning the phone to her, I had been tried my hardest to fall asleep, figuring my constant nightmares would be better than utter boredom. A deep voice suddenly sounded over the intercom. "We will be experiencing slight turbulence. Please remain seated with your seat belts on."
Frantically, I searched for my sweatshirt. At last I found it, crumpled into the side pocketing my bag. My victory was short lived, however, as the plane hit a gust of wind. I didn't stumble, I didn't trip, because that would have been just fine.
No, I full out fell right on top of Leo's lap. And I will not say that I liked it because I didn't so stop grinning like idiots. His eyes were glued to mine as I tried to get up without hurting him or other people sitting around us. My mouth opened to apologize, but quickly shut when I realized my throat had closed up while looking at him.
"Rikki." He said quietly, staring at me with his big brown eyes. "You're crushing my knee, and your hair is in your eyes." Blood rushed into my cheeks as he lifted one callused hand to take the hair behind my ear.
"Well isn't this cozy? Sweet heart, that really isn't safe." My head shot to look at a young flight attendant with the shortest blue skirt I'd ever seen. As if waking from a trance, Leo pushed me off his lap and let me land on the floor with a thud.
He gave a forced smile. "Sorry, miss. It won't happen again." The flight attendant was all smiles as she looked Leo up and down.
"Marlee. You can call me Marlee." Her tone had changed from sour to sweet faster than a Sour Patch Kid. Getting up and dusting off my jeans, I suppressed a laugh, knowing that her flirting would get her nowhere with him. As I sat down, I turned to watch the rejection.
Imagine my surprise when he shook her outstretched hand with a cute little crooked smile on his face. My smile faltered as I watched her tuck a strand of auburn hair behind her ear, giggling obnoxiously. "Yo! Miss Short-skirt? Could you do me a favor and get me a coke? I mean, it IS your job." She sent me a glare while I clenched my fists, unsure as to why my blood felt like it was boiling.
"Right away, ma'am." Marlee said, her brown eyes more of a muddy dirt color than chocolatey brown like Leo's. As she walked away-swaying her hips much more than the average woman might I add- I turned, half expecting Leo to be watching her tiny, nonexistent butt. But he wasn't. Instead, his eyes were trained intently on me.
My stomach twisted, but I ignored it. Anna coughed uncomfortably before just getting up to leave, mumbling something about fish and toilets. Nico had fallen asleep a while ago, leaving Leo and I practically alone. The other passengers were asleep, or absorbed movies, books, and headphones.
I adjusted myself so that I was staring out the window rather than at his face. After a minute or two, I felt the seat sink a limitless next to me. A sigh of relief escaped me as I turned to thank Anna for being a barrier. Only, it wasn't Anna.
My eyes widened as I stared at Leo, wondering why the heck he was sitting next to the only person on the plane that annoyed the crap out of him. He opened his mouth to say who knows what, but was interrupted by a very strained little cough that sounded much to close to Dolores Umbridge.
