Never Would've Thought

Chapter 2

Sitting longingly in my English class, my stomach begins to roar with hunger. I sigh to myself because I've already just eaten. I can't help but to avert my eyes to Cade every now and then, I mean the poor kid was just getting beaten and bruised to tears back there. One thing I did notice though was that every time I would look over those same bright green eyes would be staring right back at my plain brown orbs ever so intently and got whatever reason it would send chills all down my spine... I've never felt that before though. I mean of course I have had any boyfriends before, but none of them ever made me feel how those beautiful pupils of his could make me feel.

Oh, I don't know maybe you actually like him?!

Oh, shut up.

My thoughts are interrupted by the bell signaling thst it's time for 3rd period. I can still feel Cade's gaze on me none the less, but I decide to ignore it. I'm about to head out of the door when I see a neatly folded paper sitting on my text book with writing that reads 'for you beauty ;)'. I furrow my eyes in utter confusion, but decide to open the note anyway.

"Hey, thanks for helping me out back there
Cade."
Is what was written in the note read.

Really. That's it? He could've said that in person.

But, he did call us beautiful.

Ugh! That's it. I'm getting rid of you two.

I head into the girls restroom and frantically check all of the bathroom stalls to assure nobody else is here. Once the coast is clear I stalk over to the sink look myself in the mirror then down the two small tablets. I sigh in relief as my voices slowly fade away and suddenly I feel that happy feeling I always get again.

"Cade, do you want to go to the mall with me?" He stares at me once again and I shift uncomfortably under his gaze then clear my throat to snatch his attention. He sighs deeply then shyly utters an apology. I can't help but give a tight smile at his adorable shyness. "So do you?" I ask again.

"Do I what?" He asks in complete confusion making me let out a small giggle.

"Do you want to go to the mall with me?" I ask with a smile. His eyes bulge and he instantly turns a bright shade of red before tucking his head into his arms on the lunch table. I furrow my eyes at his actions. "What's the matter?" He mumbled something incohearantly to me making me get a little closer to him. "What was that?" I ask.

His head slowly comes up and he looks me my nose as the amazing scent of his cologne hits it. I inhale deeply embracing the wonderful smell and let out a small moan in satisfaction. He furrows his eyes before say "y-yeah, I'll go." I snap out of my trance and back to reality. I give a big smile showing off my pearly whites then tell him to meet me after school and strut off.

Come on Tia! Snap out of it!

As we are walking a store covered in hoodies, baggy ripped jeans and more that you would only see your boy crush wearing catches my eye. My eyes glisten with delight as I point forward. "That one!" I turn to look at Cade with a huge smile plastered on my face. He seems he wants to say something to protest, but instead sighs and gives a small nod with a forced smile instead.

I furrow my eyes at him for maybe the third time today as i grab my phone. Oh my gosh! It's 5:30 already! Cade should be home! Why didn't he tell me..

I look up to Cade with a questionable look. "What?" He asks innocently. I show him my phone screen. He blushes with embarrassment. "I didn't want to disappoint you." He says looking down playing with his fingers like a toddler getting in trouble. Awe. I frantically shake my head at him then chuckle. "It's alright Cade, we have enough bags for you already don't you think?" I raise an eyebrow gestering at all of the multiple bags we both are carrying on our arms. He shifts uncomfortably and slightly nods.

Ugh! Why is he so shy?!?!

Not you again!

I mentally face palm myself before slowly turning and beginning to walk
"Where are you going?! Don't leave me?!!" I roll my eyes before yelling "just follow along with me Cade." And so he does.

I hault in front of his house as I watch him grab all of his bags of clothes. He stops before closing the door and looks at me. "Tia. Why did you do all of this for me?" I let out a small sigh before answering. "You'll thank me later." He smiles to himself before cheerfully closing the door and hopping off to his door step... yes.. hopping.

Wow. That boy really needs us.

Yes he does.. And tomorrow we have got to work on that character of his.

Why?

Ugh, because he has to be perfect now leave me alone! I groan as I start the car and drive off.
