I sighed as I packed. I guess I do need to go in vacation and blow off some steam. After I packed, I threw on a white tank top with black demin shorts and black high heel ankle boots designed by apple bottoms. Lastly, I put on black, dark shades. I finger comb my hair and place it in a ponytail to let my wavy, brown hair fall down to the middle of my stomach. Maria came in my room.

"Are you ready?"

I pick up my bag. "Yeah."

We walk downstairs. My mom and dad had on matching flower shirts.

" Oh God. Mom. Dad. Why?" I say slapping my forehead.

"What? You don't like the shirts?" Dad asked smiling and showing them off.

"First of all, no. And second, they're matching! I'm glad we're going to the beach, and not a public

stadium," I say rolling my eyes.

"Let's go. Vamos," my mom says.

We walk out the door. I really hope this guy is different than the ones at school. One with attitude like me. Or at LEAST a goth or an emo. As we put our things into the car, and I put my motorcycle on the back of the truck, a horn honked. We all turned around.

I almost yelled my butt off when I saw it was my girl, my chicka Lexi. "Lexiiiii!"

She got out of the ride and comes to hug me. Her boyfriend, Jesus, came out to hug me.

"Wassup, Mami?" he said.

My mom smiles. "Surprise. I wanted to hold it til today. Alexia and Jesus is coming with us to keep

you company."

"Plus, we wanted to have a fiesta too," she says swaying her hips. I laugh.

"Aaaand my mom wanted to come too. She said she'll meet you guys at the beach house."

Lexi and Jesus are 19. They were always a grade ahead of me, but now, they're out of school.

They've been my childhood friends since I was 8.

She came by my side. "So, your mom told me her childhood friends were coming too with her

teenage boy. Is he cute?"

"I haven't seen him. But I hope he isn't like the guys at the school."

"Girl, preps are not that bad. As a matter of fact, I used to fu-"

Jesus cleared his throat.

She rolled her eyes. "Let's just say I messed around. Girl, you just gotta get under their skin and make them think they're something. Which they are, but you know what I mean. Now that YOU are a senior now, I gotta tell you the rules for 12th grade."

Lexi was like a big sister I never had. If I ever whooped somebody's ass and saw her friends were jumping in, she'd jump in too.

I told her what happened at school Friday.

"Mm. This girl sounds like she real tough. I'm gone have to meet her."

Oh yeah, I forgot to meant that my friend is straight up hood. She's one of those ride or die chicks to

Jesus. Jesus'll bust a cap in your ass.

"Girl, I'll call you if things pop off."

Another car pulled up. A lady came out of the passenger's seat. She smiles as she comes up to my mother and hugs her. My dad does also. A man came out of the car and have my dad a brotherly hug and gave my mom a hug.
