Why do we have futures? Why should we care what path we take? Some of us become really good, kind, and helpful people throughout life. Others... Let's just say not so much. Some are cruel, some unspeakably evil, and others.. well, you get the picture. It's important for me to know which path I am bound to take, for it will shape who I will be for the rest of my life. Confused? Let's back it up to before I turned 17.

ONE YEAR AGO
My seventeenth birthday was in three days time. There were so many things to do! I had my choosing ceremony in a year and three days, so my seventeenth birthday was crucial to The Choosers. I had to make a good impression, otherwise I would for sure be seen headed to evil. I don't want to be like the rest of my family, they're cruel and cold-hearted people. I will not choose their side. I want to be good. I want to be free to do whatever I want, and not have to worry about them dragging me back into the deep. They were always mean and rude and completely careless of others. I, on the other hand, love helping people. Little kids especially are definitely the best thing ever. But my mother never approved of my liking them. She hated me because she saw me destined to be good. Her favourite child was my brother, Christopher.
