„Dad you promised me to go outside today and I want to go outside now!", I beg, pulling him by the sleeve, but he shows no reaction. He just continues calling someone. His workmate, I guess. "Dad? Dad... DAD!" I say again very loudly, but he is still ignoring me. It sucks being eight years old. Everyone is stronger than me and being little is likewise dumb, but my voice is actually very loud.
"So is he hired now?" I hear him asking in his phone and I feel like I am invisible. I turn around and look to the living-room. Maybe I'll find something useful to draw attention to my busy father. I see my teddy bear lying on the floor and I have an idea. I take the bear and throw him in my father's direction. It hits his back of his head. I can't help smiling and he changes back and flashes angryly at me, but this was my opportunity to say him that he promised me going outdoor. "What do you want?", he asks annoyed and I grin.
"I want to go outside with you, please!" I say with my innocent voice and blink a few times with my eyes. His bothered expression disappears and a softly smile appears in his face.
"I got to go. Bye. See you tomorrow at work" He hangs up and I drag him along to the door. He takes my hand and I look at him.
"So and what are we going to do now?" He asks me and I point at a ball.
"Can we play football?" I ask him and he nods. I am running to that football, taking it up and kick it to my dad. He kicks the ball to me and we repeat this a few times. I don't know why, but every time as I kick the ball to him, I smile.
"Dad, Could you boot that football as strong as you can?" I ask him, because I want to know how wide that ball would fly.
"Are you sure, you'll catch it?" He asks and I nod. So he kicks it hardly, but as the ball comes to me, I crouch down before it hits me. I look after it and my father laughs.
"I'll fetch it!" I say and sprint to the direction where the ball flew. As I run I look at my father from the corner of my eye who is watching our garden. I notice only now how far I was away from my house and I don't see the football. Suddenly a guy turns up and I almost crash into him. He has blond styled up hair and bright blue eyes. His eyes are almost white and he has a piercing on his lower lip. He carrys my football in his left hand.
"Uhm... Hi... Have you seen my football?" I ask him politely, knowing my question was unnecessary and he laughs.
"I think, this is yours" He says and I nod. He throws it to me and I catch it.
"Can you tell me your name?" He asks me and I glance at him.
"My name is Kira! What's your name?" I answer his question.
"I'm Luke. Kira is a really a nice name!" He says and I giggle. I love receiving compliments. This makes me feel happy.
"Nice to meet you Luke" I tell him, holding out my hand to him and shake him by the hand. I just want to make a good impression. As I see his arm, I notice his artery which look peculiar. The colour of it is black, but I thought it should actually be bluish.
"How old are you?" He asks friendly.
"I am eight years old, but I have birthday next week on Friday. I am already excited!" I answer and giggle again. "What about you?"
"I am a little older" He says and smiles. I guess, he is... like seventeen or eighteen years old. Then he takes off a silver broad bracelet on his arm and put it on my right wrist. It is a little heavy, maybe it is a kind of iron. I look confused at him.
"That's just a little present for your birthday. I only want to give you something. I hope you like it..." He says and I grin. He is so friendly, but I don't even know him. My dad said all the times I shouldn't talk to strangers, but he seems to be very nice. I don't know why my father is always worried about me.
"Thank you so much! It is so beautiful!" I thank him and maybe I am overacting, but I am just happy. "Do you live here? I never had seen you before..." I ask him and he shake his head.
"No, I am not living here..." He answers and smiles.
"Okay... Are coming often here and why are you here?" I ask him again and he laughs.
"You're a very curious little girl!" He says I look up to him and put my angelic smile on. "I am just visiting someone. Nothing big... Are you contented now?" He asks me and laughs again. I nod and falter to and fro.
"Kira what are you doing? How much longer will it take to find that ball?" My dad shouts to me and as I look to him, I saw just a little figure. Am I really so far away?
"Just a minute Dad!" I scream back loudly.
"I think you better should go before you get in trouble with your father" Luke conjectures.
"Okay bye! Will I see you anytime again?" I ask him and he nods.
"Yea, anytime" He answers and I grin. "Bye Kira" I run back to my dad who is still waiting for me.
"What were you doing? You need almost ten minutes" He says and I bite on my lower lip.
"I was just talking to a guy who was there" I answer and my voice is very low.
"Which guy? There is nobody..." He utters and I turn around to see Luke, but my dad was right. He's gone. "Maybe you're just tired. You should go to bed" He adds and I nod. I flit to my room and jumped onto my bed. My father follows me, closes the curtain and give me a kiss on my forehead. I cuddle me in my soft and cuddly blanket and close my eyes. I am thinking about the day and about that friendly guy. I am still confused that my dad didn't see him. Maybe he was already gone... I don't know. Then I fall asleep...
I know he will never come again.
