Memories and secrets

Mary was sitting outside on the porch, looking at the stars.

"I'm wonder if Jared is looking too. It's weird, but I miss him" she said slowly, keeping a teddy bear tight at chest.

Suddenly, old memories hit her, like an iced blizzard.

""Please, let me out, I didn't do anything. Mom? Dad? Anyone? Please" the tears was falling on her face and she screamed and hit the iron door in vain. Nobody came and she stayed there, in the dark, with bugs climbing on her, and with not even a spark of light. Seemed weeks, moths when she heard something but didn't had strength to speak and scratched the door with nails, or what was left from them. The door was opened and she feel down, but two strong arms catch her. "Don't worry, you are safe now" she heard and pass out.""

She shake her head and wiped the tears, trying to not remember further, was too damn painful; heading inside, her phone ring.

"Hey Mary, I'm Jared, how are you?" His voice sounded like heaven and with an ear to ear smile she respond immediately, playing with her hair, like a little girl.

"Fine, I'm just fine. I was outside, looking at the stars and wondering if...(she made a pause) if you are looking too at the sky"

"To be honest, I sit outside, writing something and time to time I was looking up."

"And what did you wrote? If you want to tell me, of course"

"Haha, not to single chance to find out. When I will finish I will show you. Until then, it's secret"

"Come on, don't be so mean with me." She said in a childish voice

"Look, I will give you to choose. One, I will tell you at the phone and two, I will not say a single word and I will tell you personally. What is your choice?"

"Two" she said louder making Jared laughing.

Talking like they knew each other since forever, the time was passing by quickly .

"Oh, it's 2am , I'm going to bed, tomorrow I need to go to work earlier, it's been a pleasure talking with you Jared."

"The pleasure was mine beautiful. Sweet dreams"

Jared press end, smiling.

"Why you have that grin on your face?" Shannon said, trowing himself on the couch.

"It's about a girl, Mary. I've meet her on that town and I like her. Is not an ordinary girl, she is mysterious and as you know, I like discovering new things."

"Hmm, what if she is serial killer?" Shannon tried to make fun of Jared staying few seconds serious, but, trowing his head on back, laughed hard.

"Be serious, I don't think so, anyway I would love being tortured by her...joking man. I will go to see her in few days, just a short visit."

"Take me with you, if you don't I'm going telling mom that you are mean with me" Shannon made puppy eyes and hugs his brother when said yes.

Meanwhile, Luna was in the kitchen, wanting to drink a glass of hot milk with a spoon of honey. This thing helped her every time when couldn't sleep.

Looking at her phone saw a message

"Hey beautiful, I wanted to tell that I'm sorry about what happened and when you come in town again, tell me. I want to make it up to you, with a dinner"

She closed the phone, trowing on the counter.

"Ughh, that idiot, next time I will trow the dinner on his face. He had some balls to contact me after all he did. And taking the phone from my hand to find the number was the final drop" she mumbling, heading to her room.

And so the days flows until Jared and Shannon arrived in town and Mary was trilled, waiting to meet them.

"Come on, Luna, don't let me alone. Come with me, you will have fun with us, plus his brother has come too."

"No, don't push it. You know that I don't like meeting new people, stepping outside from my comfort zone."

"Just this time, do it for me. Just two hours, drinking something and that will be all"

After many entreaties, Luna accept to go with her. Getting dressed and finishing the make up and hair, the girls was looking smoking hot.

The sun started to fall down when the girls arrived in front of that lake. Jared wanted to meet there because was impressed by the beauty of the place. Everything seemed perfect but, when they turn around, Luna had a shock.

Shannon started to laugh, while Jared and Mary was confused, seeing Luna punching him, slowly on shoulder.

"You got nerve to come here after all you've done. And stop laughing, now."

" I just can't hahaha, this situation is hilarious. My brother and your friend, me and you"

Shannon was laughing even harder but seeing Luna turning around and leaving, he took her by the wrist.

"You can protest how much you want but I won't let you go. Now, Jared and Mary deserve some explanation." He said amused by their faces.
