The silence before the storm

Jared's POV

I let my brother, alone, with Luna, knowing what he wanted. Instead going in town, I took Mary hand and heading in the place we first spend beautiful moments.

Sitting on the grass, with her head on my chest, we didn't said a word. Just looking, admiring and feeling.

I could swear that our hearts was beating in the same rhythm..........

Normal POV

In the morning both Leto brothers, wake up alone in beds.

"Shan, where are the girls?"

"Don't know. I tried to call but the phones are closed"

Jared and Shannon was confused, and gathering their stuff, was trying to find some answers until...

"Jay, I found this in my jacket" Shannon shout at his brother, running down on stairs.

He read it with loud voice.

"Jared, Shannon we are so sorry for leaving like this but we didn't had a choice. Please leave the key house, where Mary worked; they know what to do.

Maybe someday, we will see each other again. Until then, take care of you two. Kisses. Mary&Luna"

The Leto brothers looked at each other with puzzled faces; after gathering their stuff, headed to leave the key. There, nobody couldn't answer at their questions so, they decided to go home.

After few days, someone knocked at Jared's door.

"I'm detective McLayne and I have few questions for you. May I ?"

"Oh yes, of course, come in"

Jared lead that man into the living room;

"Okay, I'm listening, what is all about ?"

"I'm searching two girls, Mary Hildeburn and Luna Travis. Do you know them?" The detective put on coffee table some photos.

"Yeah, I know them, they did something wrong?"

"Few years ago, they escaped from a mental hospital. Are very dangerous and trough the years, manage to run every time when I was about to caught them."

"Wait? What are you talking about? Mental hospital ? Dangerous ? These two girls are the most kindest person I ever meet. It's very hard to believe that." Jared dig the hands into his hair, trying to assimilate those new informations.

Was hard to believe, indeed, but he wouldn't let him to get them.

"Luna killed her father who beat her mother to death and Mary set a house on fire when everybody was sleeping. Luckily, they sensed the smoke and run outside in time; in her defense, she said that was abused in every day and that thing made her to lost her minds."

The detective said, knowing that Jared wanted to find out the reason the girls was locked in that hospital.

"I think you should leave now, I have work to do"

Jared wanted to get rid of that man and to talk with Shannon, peacefully.

Detective McLayne left his number in case the girls will show up; number that Jared trow at garbage, while was heading upstairs in his brother room.

"No way Jay, are you serious? Come on, maybe Luna and Mary did the right thing after all those bad things that happened in their life. I don't care, seriously. I care about Luna and I will fight with an entire detective department for her."

"Maybe you right, if was a serial killer maybe me and you wouldn't stand here today. All we can do is to wait"

A month, two...nothing.

Jared and Shannon was all the time in the studio, on the roads at concerts, anything just to make the time to pass more fast; in one evening, gayer a show in Las Vegas, heading back to hotel, Jared, suddenly yelled at the driver to stop.

"Shannon look, that is Luna"

Jared was pointing across the street; in front of a store was Luna, with a plastic bag in one hand and scrolling the phone with another.

Before Shannon reach at her, she climb in a taxi.

"Follow that taxi now" he demand, closing the car door. They followed the taxi, at a cheap motel, outside the town.

"Stay here" Jared said, rushing after his brother, who caught Luna.

"Shannon, you scared me to death, what are you doing here?"

"Luna, I think we deserve an explanation" Jared said, rubbing her shoulder.

"Come inside, Mary is here too"

Seeing him, entering, Mary almost screamed of happiness. Crying, she trow herself in Jared's arms.

Few moments, nobody speak; Shannon was keeping Luna at his chest, while his brother was doing the same thing with Mary.

But was just the silence before the storm.
