"hey," jooheon moved closer to changkyun as the latter was cleaning the counter. changkyun just hummed and kept on scrubbing as if it wasn't clean enough already. "do you need any help?" he looked up at the top shelves, noticing that changkyun wouldn't be able to reach them easily yet he was already done with the counter. not that he himself could reach the top shelves, their height difference wasn't all that big.

"could you lift me up a little so i can clean the top of the fridge and everything else?" changkyun looked at jooheon.

"you can literally just climb on a chair or on the counter," jooheon responsed before turning and taking two chairs so he could also climb up and help the other boy. he dragged them to the counter and helped changkyun step up on one of them, then climbed up on the other.

the moment changkyun saw all the dirt, he started doubting that the people, who previously lived in that apartment, had ever cleaned at all. "this is so gross," he mumbled out, not even wanting to get closer to it.

jooheon ended up being just as grossed out as changkyun. "are you in for a big late spring cleaning?" he asked and looked at changkyun, not being able to keep his eyes on the horrific sight on top of the cupboards for any longer.

"i'm not really sure if i want to touch that..."

"i don't want to either," the older sighed as he sat down. "but i also don't want to live in such a dirty place."

changkyun also sat down on the chair and hummed, leaning his elbow against the backrest. he looked around in the kitchen. "we should buy some furniture, too. this place seems so empty." jooheon just rested his head on the other's shoulder, letting out a quiet hum. "which means that i have to get a job soon..."

"most likely, yeah. we don't have enough money to be able to afford new furniture."

they were sitting in silence, noticing how they had to turn on the lights soon because the sun was setting and the room was gradually getting darker.

"i guess you're right," the younger sighed.

he suddenly got up and went over to turn on the lamp. he then walked back to jooheon, sitting down and letting him rest his head on his shoulder again. it was silent again and changkyun was lazily drawing patterns against the chair's frame with his index finger.

"what's the pouty lip for?" jooheon asked, breaking the somewhat awkward silence between them.

"what?" changkyun suddenly looked up. "i wasn't pouting."

the blond let out a laugh. "you were pouting just now. what were you thinking about?"

the younger only shrugged, not really sure how to answer that. he had a lot on his mind yet at the same time nothing at all. "let's go watch something," he simply said before getting up and heading over to the living room.

jooheon was left to sit alone and after a bit he heard changkyun's voice calling him to come over.
