Hanna Qin Mei feels lost. She can't even touch the standards people have put for her and it frustrates her greatly. She feels empty; hollow inside and out. The supposed gleaming star inside of her that her late grandmother had always reminded her about seemed to have died and consumed itself to form an infinite black hole.
Meet Sawyer "Sam" Beckett, Hanna's 'rooftop roommate' and classmate in AP Biology.
One accidental meeting on the rooftop of their apartment complex leads Sam to learn of Hanna's broken star. "I'll be the Peter Pan to your Wendy, so will you fly with me to Neverland?"
