It was a beautiful day outside. I had been told by my sparring partner minutes before, ducking from a roundhouse kick to my head I dropped with a roll before retaliating with a fake lung to the right and a swift upper kick to the shoulder on his left.

You see being a rare werewolf is uncommon in itself but to be the gold werewolf touched by the moon goddess brings danger at every bloody moment of my life! I have been training since I was eight to fight in both forms with any and every weapon imaginable including every fighting style you can think of. I must say out of everything the hardest weapon for me to master was the rope dart. Sounds super awesome but it was not all that great practicing with. Believe me I know.

We had been practicing for a solid 2 hours 55 minutes outside and I knew we only had 5 minutes left until we trained again later tonight. It seems like a lot but Hunter, my trainer, always said to me " when you're tired and have no energy that's when you need to focus the most. It is then when you believe you cannot go any further that you must do the impossible. It will save your life more than you know" super speech am I right? After something like that you just have to give it your all.... note my sarcasm.

After evading my kick hunter as usual tried something over the top to make sure I was paying attention. He went for a standard tackle, resulting with me on the ground. Trying to pin me down however is a different story, he had left his crown jewels unprotected and my gorgeous knee was about to say hello.

"Ahhh, fuck sake Celene. Why? Not my babies" falling to the side of me in a ball clutching air. I was up and out of harm's way finally. Looking down on him I laughed.

"Oh stop. There's nothing there anyway!" I said smirking at his furious face. Shit I was so dead... I turned to get out of there when a hand on my ankle pulled me down like a sack of potatoes.

We continued to struggle until my mother spoke to us across the open space " Celene Diana Bourdoux! I expect you to be in this house looking presentable in the next 15 minutes" and then there was silence. We both remained silent unmoving when a " right now" was said in a raised voice. After which we both got up immediately and started running back to the house, sneaking punches to each other. Honestly you would think Hunter was the child, and not the 35 year old he was.

Hunter lost his mate and daughter during childbirth a few years back, I was ten when it happened. He has been with our family ever since helping me to train harder with no food or water under the strangest conditions normally me wearing leggings and a top training outside for hours in the freezing cold or scorching heat. Its apparently to help me get used to the different climates, and since we're in the mountains we get them all.

As much as it sucks I know it's in my best interest and besides it was my idea. But one thing I always loved was the views we had. My home was an old castle that had been modernised within, overlooking the valley and lake below us. When the moon light hit the lake at night reflecting of it, that's when it is truly magical.

My life and home. They were just that, perfect.

I never knew how true that statement was until everything went wrong.
