Introduction: Hello, my name is Kyle. I am going to take you through an amazing story if how we made math class fun again. It's a story about how we defied the rules and took a chance. Some of the details have been changed but most of it was left untouched. So please sit down and enjoy this story.
Based on a true story.
Prologue:
I hear the first bell go. P.E class was officially over. I knew that the next class was going to be the most painful class of the day. For I was making my way to math class.
Chapter 1: The beginning
I sit down. Right in the middle of the class, to my left is my friend Nick, to the right is Sammy. I find myself surrounded by friends when Keaton and Jackson sit behind me. Then walks in the teacher, Ms Babiuk. Tristan and Erik sit to the far left of me, and Jordon sits to the far right of me. Ms Babiuk stands in front of the class while Jackson and Keaton are cracking jokes as usual. Ms Babiuk quietly exclaims "I have the test marks for those of you who have finished." Once she said that there was a wave of people rushing to see there marks. I manage to squeeze myself in there as I am small. I see my marks. 28 out of 35. I feel pretty happy about my mark as I worked hard at studying. I type into the calculator 28 divided by 35. I see my percentage is 80 percent. I feel great. I got a good mark. I don't have to worry anymore. So I put up my hand. "Yes Kyle?" She asks, I ask "Ms Babiuk what are we doing today? Because spring break is in two days and half the grade is leaving to go on the Europe trip today?". After thinking for a little bit she replies "Just work on your NHI's. The problem was, I didn't have any. I was all caught up in my work. And I was getting bored, fast!
Chapter 2: The Idea
At the same moment I realize I need a way out. Two girls stand up and ask to go to the library. Ms Babiuk says "yes you may, here, just let me write a hall pass." That's it! It finally clicked in my head. So Immediately I try to find a reason to go to the library. But I realize that I have this vocabulary worksheet I need to do. So I get the idea. "Maybe I should go to the washroom".
Chapter 3: The Execution
I get up and ask if I could go to the washroom. Ms Babiuk responds with a quick "yea" I leave and quickly go to the art room where my friends are waiting for me. I arrive at Ms Shareons art class and am immediately greeted by Cassidy, Jake, Clint, and Zach. When I thought that it couldn't get any better they ask if we could go outside where all of my other friends were in their P.E class playing rugby. As we were able to sneak pass Ms Bisset the student teacher or others call him the teachers pet Ryan spots us and quickly rushes to tell Ms Bisset. So we make a quick dash behind one of the portables. But now there is a 30 feet dash between us and the door, where we will be wide open for Ryan to point us out. We all look at each other. For awhile we are silent by thinking. Then Zach yells "YOLO!" and makes a dash, Cassidy and Clint are quick to follow. Me and Jake know that if we make a dash we will surely attract a lot of attention. Including Ryan's and Ma Bisset's.
Chapter 4: The Getaway
Me and Jake were now pinned down behind a portable with Ryan and Ms Bisset on our tail. We realize we must expose ourselves in order to not get caught. So I keep a look out until they turn there backs then we make our move. Me and Jake sprinting towards the door knowing inside those doors was the "safe zone" but then Ryan turns around. We both realize that we must stop running to lose the attention so we start walking. Walking that eventually grew into jogging, which grew into running, and then sprinting again as Ryan loses interest. Then we make it. We open the doors and we don't stop running until we are in the art room. We had made it. I then realize that there was another problem. I had been away for 30 minutes and there is no way that Ms Babiuk could have not noticed by now. So now I need to make my way back into math class where all of my things are.
Chapter 5: The Return
I make my way down the hallway. My hearts beating faster then usual. I had never done anything like this before. It was a race of adrenalin. It was amazing to break the rules. To just escape being caught. This rush was what everyone did it for. This amazing feeling. But I still had one obstacle left as I needed to sneak back into math class. Grab my things and return. As I peep into the room I realize that Ms Babiuk is helping Keaton with his work. Which meant that Keaton was blocking her view of the door. So before I lost this opportunity I fast walked in, making sure not to attract attention. I make my way around the class praying that she wouldn't see me. And she didn't. I had succeeded. I had one of the best math classes ever! I felt great. And I couldn't wait to do it next time.
