You Saved Me

There is darkness in my heart

It was there from the start

I was filled with hate and it grew

Now its overflowing about to spew

Unfortunately I've reached an age

Where I have to release this rage

And as I do my world comes crumbling down

I struggle not to drown

As these emotions start to flood me

This is a consequence I did not foresee

Then I find you with your hand reaching out

I try to grab it and I shout

"Help me, hold me, I need you"

And you say "I will, I need you too"

So I hold on with all my might

For in this darkness you're my only light

I can't express my gratitude for you aiding me

But I decide that your hero is who I'm going to be

You are my best friend, the one I know is true

You saved me, now its my turn to save you
