"Leroy is having a party on Saturday, we should go." My best friend breaks the silence as she eats my Birthday Cake flavored ice cream.

"Leroy has a party every Saturday Em." I reply, not taking my eyes off of my laptop as I continue writing my history paper on the Holocaust. "Yeah, but we haven't gone in a while."

I turn around in my spiny chair to actually look at her. "Every time we go to one of his parties, you end up getting so drunk you don't remember it." I get off of my chair and walk over to my bed and sit down next to her.

"Give me."

"Yeah, but isn't that the point?" She asks passing the spoon over. I roll my eyes and take a large chunk from the ice cream before shoving it into my mouth.

"Fine, how about we go to the fair? It's opening night on Friday." I nod in agreement as I am currently not able to speak.

"Yeah, sounds good to me. We bringing anybody?" I asked handing her back the spoon. "Um, Sebastian?" I nod in agreement again with a smile.

I absolutely love Seb, he and Emerson have been dating for the past 2 years and are absolutely perfect for each other. "Isn't he friends with Terrance?"

"Yeah, best friends. Why?" She narrows her eyes at me. "Can we invite him?"

Her eyes widen before she starts squealing like brake pads that need to be replaced. "Do you have a thing for him?"

"What! No!" I say, a little too quickly. "We just have a project together where we need to get to know each other."

"You can't lie to me, babe. You can be read like an open book." I stick my tongue out at her as I scoop the rest of the ice cream onto the spoon and eat it. "I don't like you very much right now."

"But, honestly Asa, you need to get back in the dating game. It's been almost a year and a half." I send her a glare which makes her shut her mouth.

"Sometimes I wonder why we are best friends."

"I ask myself the same thing every night."

We look at each other before breaking into a fit of laughter. "Have you heard from your dad?" Em asks once we both sobered up. "No, last time was 2 months ago."

"He's okay, probably just busy." I nod my head and give her a smile before getting back up and going back to write my history paper.

"I just miss him, ya know?"

"I know, we all do. He'll be home before you know it, babe."
