A/N: Fanart by ilikecarousels I still have them til now 😄 Thank you thank you again for making them
Dear Jackson,
I went to see a film the other day. It was called Almost Famous. It was playing at the community hall where apparently they're having this film festival dedicated all to old movies. But this one wasn't too old. It was the kind parents watched when they were teenagers and rebelled against their own parents too.
Nevertheless, I liked it a lot. Even better, they didn't charge you for a ticket either. There was also this usher. He barely had any of his real skin left since most of it was covered in deep ink. He was babbling on and on to the other usher sharing his post about how this festival was a brilliant idea and how it was about time kids learned a thing or two about real culture. Quoting him word for word here. I think he was a volunteer.
The other usher looked kind of bored. So the tattooed movie enthusiast one guided me inside the Rec Room that they turned into a cheap movie house by taping up black sheets on the windows and using a blank white wall as the screen.
He told me to pay attention to the movie and then left me to sit on one of those plastic chairs they use for outdoor barbecue parties.
I kept looking around during the movie though, as much as I liked it. I just couldn't help but feel like everyone else in the audience was just as interesting as the main characters in the movie. Because, you know, in their eyes, they are the main character in their own movies, their own lives. They're all trying to catch that girl who likes somebody who's not good for her. They all have probably gone through some tragedy in their lifetime. Their movies were still going on even after the one we all just watched ended, and then they'd go home and keep continuing it and some of the people they know leave and never finish the movie.
I'm going to watch it again online after I finish this up, which I'm going to do now. I want to keep up this hype I have for the film before I ruin another good experience again by thinking too much.
Love,
Ivo.
